  • Another iPhone question

I was going to listen to my iPod today. When I plugged it in, all my songs say they need to be downloaded. This is all new. They've all been played before. They've all been downloaded. Somehow (kids? Me?) something got turned off or in my settings. Help. Please.

Were you playing them from the cloud? The newer systems have the cloud icon and "this device" as an option at the top. If it's on cloud, it streams what you own even without having it on the device. You can download things to be able to play them without internet.

My newer phones have none of my music preloaded, I have to stream or pick what I'm downloading before I use it.

    Did you recently update maybe?

            No :/

It keeps saying I have either no storage or little storage. And that I can manage my storage in settings. I don't even have that much on my phone. I've deleted a few apps, pictures, music and saved favorites. I dont even have two icons of pages for apps total.

Check how many pics or vids you have saved on your phone. If you have a smaller amount of data storage in your phone, a few videos will really eat up your storage.

Do you still have your old phone saved as an iCloud backup? If you do, delete that backup and you should be good to go.

DD: I went through just now and deleated a few more videos and 100+ pictures. Maybe that'll help. I wish the Apple Store was closer! Maybe the AT&T peeps can help me out. I can go there on Monday.

CP: I've had this phone since the end of April and this has only been an issue for 2-3 days.

I'd still check to see if you have an old backup on the phone...

I have the 8.1 update avail but it says I don't have enough storage for that either. So. Annoying. I have half my storage, right?

                        I'll have to find a plug for it. It's the 4s and i have a 5c now.

So what would I have to do? Erase everything off the old phone?

Nope. You have less than a gig available on your phone, which is why you can't update. The iOS 8 is a HUGE file. Almost 5 gigs.

You have lots of space of your iCloud, though. I would probably move stuff over to the iCloud and delete it from your phone, if you can.

Well I still can't figure out my phone issue. Somewhere, somehow, I think something was turned off. (Even my calendar is missing stuff) I finally got my music back. I backed my phone up to the cloud. I'm now not able to take pictures due to "no avail storage". I tried scheduling an appointment at the genius bar and the soonest they have is saturday. I just can't bring myself to go to the largest mall in our region during black Friday weekend. I'm so annoyed. I'm going to try the ATT store. Maybe they can help. I'm ready to throw it out the window.
