Lol! It's 2015 here and everyone is asleep. I'm enjoying the quiet ring into the new year.

New Years Eve Plans!

I hope I never have such a ridiculous, expensive NYE again. We paid $250 for window seats at 23rd floor lounge. The description of the evening let on that there would be catered food (we had two tables costing $1500). Each table got a bottle of wine (4 person tables) and there jazz all evening. First, the music was terrible. I seriously think with my 3 voice lessons from last summer I could sing better than that woman. The service was okay but the food? Each table got a "tower" of 6 tea saucer sized plates. Cheese, truffles, cake pops (seriously) and about 5 pita chips. Two people ended up ordering Cuban sandwiches they were so hungry, but got sent out for trying to eat them at our table.
The only thing I can figure is the other table of residents and their SOs were...intimidated? By our attending friend, even though her boyfriend is a resident. (No scandel, they met when they were both residents and one of the perks of taking this job was that he could follow her here.) Whatever the case, the other table hardly even looked at us. I can be a very gregarious person but from the beginning they had their backs to us and we weren't even given a chance to make introductions. Though there was an awkward conversation in the hall (where the banished were eating their Cubans), one of the residents insinuating the attending should pay for everyone's drinks.
I like being out on New Years, and I like dressing up, being somewhere nice. But that is the last time I'm ever paying a bar to sit in their chair.
