I got a new notebook today! Ah, the thrill of a fresh start.

Oh, and looking at the thread I never gave an example of my new and exciting layout. It's really not much but it's been working pretty well for me. I might scale back to a tinier version down the side of one page for the summer, because I'll have fewer scheduled events to track (most weeks.)

Love! I'm back to a simple layout. I went a bit nuts with Dutch doors and tracking, but it's too much. In other news, both my teens have started bullet journals. List making: a family affair.

I'm pretty minimalist. I love it. When life got crazy and I didn't write in it for a week, I shrugged it off and carried on. That's always derailed me in the past.

I was picking up some school supplies for DH and the bookstore was having a big sale! I found a grid-lined journal, so I'm going to spend some time this weekend figuring out how I'd like to lay my BuJo out. Excited!

I'm feeling a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Bullet Journal. I love the fact that I can keep running logs of what is important to me, but I struggle with the fact that the daily logs aren't pre-printed. I need to see the whole week on a 2 page spread to have any idea of what is coming.

To that end, with both kids home sick from school, but not really needing a lot of attention, I set up the rest of the weekly spreads for 2016 and started the 2017 future logs. I had a couple things come home from school with field trip dates and I needed to transfer those into the journal.

I also set up a better log for tracking the expenses I share with the kids' dad. So far, it has all been honor system, but I worry about dropping the ball on something, so I set up a ledger type entry for it. Hopefully with it set up, I will do better with actually tracking.

I have to get a better handle on the chaos in my life. It is completely overwhelming and I am finding that I have double booked things again. *sigh*

Yeah, things are getting busy here so I am going to go back to doing a "week at a glance" sidebar to help me not be blindsided when things pop up on my calendar. But I love that I have taken on a home improvement project, and PTA is ramping up, and it's dentist appointment season and soccer and karate are 5 nights a week...but I sleep like a baby, never fretting about what is slipping through the cracks, because it is all in there.

Oh, and we are at our little vacation place and I love flipping back through my journal to be like, "last time we came here I forgot pancake mix." Because it still didn't stop me from forgetting laundry detergent, but dammit, it feels good not to make the same mistake twice.
