I have huge legs but these are my go to black pants. I have 5 pairs of them. They're stretchy but thick and really well made. I wear them to work, performances...I could even wear them to yoga if I wanted! Gave SIL a pair and she's worn them for modern dance performances.

Joe's skinnies are ultra-stretchy and forgiving, and the denim always looks crisp. They have high and mid rises to cover your ass when bending down to pick up babies. I find them at Nordstrom Rack. https://www.shopbop.com/charlie-high...&colorId=25133

Loving this thread. I am transitioning away from NYDJ as they are so flimsy and I am hard on my stuff. :\ I have jeans-jeans (nice heavy denim fabric) and Prana hiking pants, because the articulated knees and breathable (Scotchguarded!) fabric fits my lifestyle. I wear a long- or short-sleeved solid t-shirt (the Eddie Bauer ones are holding up best for me, while the Loft scoop-neck I got is completely shapeless after barely a year) with a sweater, half-zip pullover, or cardigan (with a pendant necklace of some sort usually); or if it's warm, I might go with a tank top and button-up shirt worn open over it (I have some Columbia UV blocking ones that are ideal for gardening), or just the solid or patterned t-shirt. My only shoes right now are some Keen Mary Janes, a pair of Toms, some leather flip-flops, and my white running shoes. I'm definitely in the market for shoes. Oh, and I wear the Mary Janes with wild colored hand-knit socks. Because that's how I roll. >.<

I'm not sure how much I'd change if I were still in the nursing years, because I was a yank-up-my-shirt-and-go kind of momma by the second baby. I guess I'd be slightly more comfortable about the yanking if I had a cardigan over my shirt, to shield my squishy white sides and back from view.

<-- Not necessarily a good template for anyone but a fellow fashion-ignorant dirt-digging muddle-brain, LOL.

I am all-over doing a capsule wardrobe! I just got rid of half of my clothes (Konmari) and don't own a single pair of dress pants.

I just ordered similar in boot cut from Athleta. Hoping those will work. If I have those plus some jeans, I'm probably ok for winter, I assume. I'm not too fancy to wear yoga pants sometimes, I just can't all the time. And I'm thinking I need some scarves/accessories to try and switch it up more.

I don't do purses/diaper bags anymore. I use a black patagonia backpack - not the height of fashion, I know but honestly, it works great and it's pockets are amazing.

Are the JCrew tees super thin? That's what gets me these days is that these damn t shirts/v necks are SO thin that you can literally see through them. WHO WANTS THAT?

Some J Crew tees are thin, others are perfect. This one is thicker. Here's what I'm wearing today for daycare drop off/ housecleaning/ errands. J Crew boat neck 3/4 sleeve t-shirt, Hudson jeans. Add short leather boots with a low heel for errands.

                Quoting to see.

When you buy them, how do you gauge the thickness?

Yosi Samra flats are my new go to. Foldable, and have good soles and so far are holding up great. I'm hard on flats bc I have a long walk from my parking deck to my office. I'd been partial to target flats bit they tore up my feet. Can't afford tieks currently so the yosi's are perfect.

I buy in-store or order online if I'm familiar with the item from in-store. I don't shop a ton, but maybe every month or two I hit the sale rack/online sales and buy any t-shirts in my size and colors. That way I can cycle out the aging ones often enough that I don't feel slobby.

Agreed with MSB. I try to avoid stores, but if I'm buying for the first time I'll try on in person if possible. Way less hassle for me to do that and then just buy online as needed versus starting online and having to deal with returns.

This is what I'm wearing today. I've gone through about 4 of them in different colors over the last few years.
