  • You know you are married to a doctor when.......

    Phone messages from spouse;
    "...I just I relocated to guy shoulder and he popped it back out. The fire alarm went off I don't know if we've got a fire but we definitely have a water main break in the ED's flooding out. So we're doing damage control right now and I still to put this guy shoulder back and so I don't think we're going to make the movie tonight...."

    Life with doctor wife;
    Me; "My TPO is about 100 times normal, is that bad?"
    Wife, half asleep; "What does that have to do with shoes?"
    Me; "Go back to sleep"

        Pretty sure I've shared this one before...

        *DH sweetly holding my hand and petting my arm*
        DH: "I really want to start an IV in your arm right now."

              Hubby gets home, greeted by frazzled wife/SAHM to 3 kids under 6.

              Wife (handing baby to Hubby): "Thank goodness you're home. I haven't been able to go to the bathroom all day."

              Hubby (looking confused and oblivious to the mayhem surrounding him): "Why? Are you constipated?"

                Rookie mistake: sure I'll stop and bring you food on my way out of town on a 3.5 HR drive with toddler and dog. "I'll be down in 10 minutes please don't leave." still sitting here 50 minutes later. 🎉🙄🖕🏻I should have known better

                    Me, to DH: "Give me your new phone: I need to turn the LoJack feature on."

                    DH, to DS: "Don't worry! I'll go get the otoscope and a curette."

                    DH, to me: "The new job wants me to wear a white coat. Crap."

                        Your 5yo tells you he "needs to finish one more note" before going to bed....and playing doctor actually includes doing notes.

                          DS this morning after not seeing DH at all yesterday: Where's Daddy? Is he lost? I'll go find him.
                          Me: He's at work baby. There are a lot of sick people in the hospital right now and Daddy has to help make them better. Hopefully you'll see him this evening.
                          DS: When I grow up I'm gonna be a doctor so I can help Daddy and he can come home!

                              At the gym, you approach your peds-specialty husband and another guy who are having a conversation. The topic is the man's anal fistula. 😳
