• My hair

So, this morning while deciding how to style my hair other than the usual mom bun, I ended up finding a bald spot. It's a pretty decent size. Just a tab bit bigger than a quarter. I looked it up and apparently there are many types of Alopecia. I'm devastated. It's not attractive and while it's easy to cover up, I've felt every single hair strand coming out of my hair as if it's making it bigger. The area seems numb but I'm almost positive it's my mind playing tricks on me and I can tell there is a dip in my hair when I cover it up. I'll be making an appointment with the Dr but it seems like there isn't much they can do except give me shots and cream. I can't even bring to pull up my hair at the moment cause it literally feels like every pull and tug just makes it worse.

Thinning hair runs in my family. My mother, aunt, and grandmother all had it and I have always feared that will be my fate too. I totally understand your distress. Go to a dermatologist. There are many more options now than our mothers had and hair care products are different too.

Ugh I'm so sorry. did your DH confirm it's actually a bald spot and not just a part? I'd be freaking out too.

MAPPLEBUM he made it worse by telling me it's ringworm based of the photo I sent him. The ass told me to wash the bedsheets!!
He wasn't being mean but he went to Dr mode and I understand. Dr appt is scheduled for tomorrow morning since finding out it could be a number of things causing it. He apologized for being insensitive (at the time). I get that he wants to solve problems but I needed my husband to help me cry about this huge ugly bald spot and then let's talk about solutions after I've talked with my Dr about it. Sorry, I'm just venting at this point and it's no help. I just hope it doesn't get bigger and I find a solution.

I once asked DrK to examine a bump on my head and he mentioned "female pattern baldness." I cried for days.

I'd definitely see the dermatologist. The rest of your hair is so thick. That might be something temporary.

I think I need to see my primary and get referred to the dermatologist but I definitely will.

So according to DrH it's a tad bit smaller than a quarter and it has a couple of follicles still. And he let me cry a big ugly sob and told me he still loved me and I'm stuck with him and I don't have to impress anyone since I'm married. Hoping for some answers tomorrow.

I'm sorry. My niece struggles with alopecia, but I recall her getting some help from the dermatologist.

I hope your dermatologist is able to help. Please let us know what you find out.

Deleted my photo cause it keeps popping up on my newsfeed notification and I don't need the reminder lol

Went to the Dr. She gave me a steroid shot to grow my hair, luckily doesn't look like ringworm or anything else except trauma to my scalp. Asked if someone had beaten, hurt me, hit me or if I was pulling my hair and if I've been stressed.

Got blood drawn just to make sure there isn't anything happening with my thyroid or any other underlying issues.

hopefully it works! Can you part your hair differently to hold you over in the meantime?
