I was the wanker who reported that post and was basically told to stfu by the admin. Then she started a thread about how much she loves cussing and that the group is hers and her friends will cuss. I guess I’m too lame and not edgy enough.

Yea, she’s uses very salty language. It’s a theme in her books — People I Want to Punch In the Throat, Spending the Holidays with People I Want to Punch in the Throat, etc. She has a lot of complaints about the “Over-Achieving Mommies” and “Dushy Dad” that populate our county. They are generally pretty phony and freak out about swearing and little stuff. They will literally invite her to book signings/readings and then complain that the title of her blog/book is offensive to them. She calls that pearl clutching. It seems that she’ll let anything go in the area of foul language.

Another friend of mine had an objection to the use of the phrase “Jewish Meat Flaps” in a post (there is a context, involving a vaginal biopsy and a phone’s auto-correct changing “mucus” to “menorah”). When she objected in the comments, a bunch of people dog piled and repeatedly told her to scroll on. It was funny because why couldn’t they “scroll on” when her objection offended them? She left the group.

And I’m sure you aren’t the only one reporting. It’s just getting gross in there. I scroll past 90% of the posts and I’ll be out of there soon if she doesn’t get a handle on it. It’s just not a supportive community right now.
