I don't know about a case folder being required after orals. I'll have to ask my husband. DH is in his first year post residency. He just has to take the written exam this Sunday and then the orals sometime next spring or fall. Once he passes the orals, I believe he'll be board certified and then won't have to get recertified for another ten years, other than meet annual CME requirements. But, I believe the requirements are different depending on the specialty. For his specialty, the board requirements are set forth by ACEP, so Matt, for your wife's specialty the board certification requirements are probably determined by ACOG.
