I did watch the Academy Awards - always do. I'm just wondering who Melanie Griffith's plastic surgeon is! She looks awful!!!!!! Any plastics people out there who can fix her?

Melanie is mentioned under "Bad Collagen in Lips" on the right-hand column (and probably elsewhere).

Warning: spending too much time on that site is almost certainly bad for your karma, 'cause it's not very nice. I like how they compare it to "Good Plastic Surgery" examples, though.

Awesome Julie. I'll keep it in mind and check it out when I'm in a particulary snippy mood.

Melanie Griffith has been scary looking for a long time. Looking at that site made me feel really sad. Do these people have so little self-worth that they have to keep having procedures done?

That site made me feel sad, too! Makes me think that life in hollywood must not be all that it is cracked up to be.

I watched this year. I wasn't going to but I wanted to see if Chris Rock behaved himself. I have to agree that Melanie Griffith looked scary. My only pet peeve of the night- Beyonce singing the Oscar Nominated song from Les Choristes. Before you jump on me- She is a beautiful singer, but I am very particular about my French. Couldn't they have gotten some, say um Celine Dion, to sing it who actually speaks French? The coordinators of course had Antonio Banderas and Santana do the song from The Spanish Film- The Motorcycle Diaries (or something like that) sing that song. Anyway Beyonce sang very well, just butchered the French a bit, imho.

It's sad when I make my list of movies to add to my Netflix during the Oscars. Can you tell I have children?

                  Crystal,

I thought the same thing about Beyonce. I don't speak French, but had to take numerous "diction for singers" classes in French, German, and Italian, and I could tell she was botching it. She looked nervous, too. I wonder what the composers were thinking while they listened!

That would make too much sense!

Now I'm sorry I missed it.
