You guys make my MIL seem closer to normal...almost.

I'm so glad that I'm not alone.

WHAT?!?! That seems like a calculated move to me! Just reading that gets me steamed. I'm all for the MIL Death Match!

Oh great topic...You want MIL stories, here goes...

My MIL is looking at my 6 yr old's report card and comments on how she was tardy one day. I was annoyed so I informed her that the reason she was late was because of her son. He had forgotten to reset the alarm. Her reply, "Well you can't expect him to remember to reset the alarm in the morning, he's exhausted. You need to buy one of those clocks that has two alarms." OK I'll get right on that!!!!!!!!!!

Or this one...I spent over $200 on a beautiful watch for my DH's first day of residency. We totally couldn't afford it, but I wanted to do something special. Despite my reminding him, he continually wore it in the shower. It eventually died. My MIL's response, "Well why didn't you get him a waterproof one?" Because I thought he had outgrown plastic Spiderman watches when he was I don't know, five!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh....it must be nice to have someone in your life convinced you can do no wrong.

My MIL isn't the easiest to deal with but my mom has had it the WORST! My mom and dad were married 23 years before my mom was allowed in a "family picture." She even bought my mom towles for Christmas last year and said "I figured since you were always in the kitchen...."

My MIL, though, is neurotic about food to the point she'll "yech! and blech!" while you are eating something she deems "bad" for you...yet she fed my dog nothing but pig ears while she was visitng (akin to feeding nothing but potato chips to children) and she has a 20 pound cat that she's put on a diet by leaving out ~4 cups of dry food....free feeding! There aren't any grandchildren yet. Thank god!
