Congrats to all and good luck in the upcoming year(s)!!!

My girlfriend is just starting year -1, applying to med schools. So been spending the majority of our free time (ok, some work time too) researching schools and editing her essays.

I had thought this site died a while back, but I must have bookmarked it wrong or something. So just thought I'd pop in and say something after re-finding this resource.

We're PGY 6...less than two to go here in Minnesota. We're short timers now. Perhaps we should get one of those beaded chains for counting down like they do in the military. Of course, we'd only be counting down to more training.

I hesitate to even say this, but I'm going to make an early opinion here, I think that the eighty hour work week rule DOES make a difference. Two scheduled weekends off a month--manna from heaven! We didn't have this much his entire intern YEAR! (Of course, DH worked 199 hours in his first fourteen days....hopefully it will get better?)

        Kelly,

I'm glad you think the 80 hour work week is an improvement. Two weekends off a month is HEAVEN -- I agree.

Enjoy having "sort of" your husband during this year.
