Awesome, thank you! I hadn't thought about getting blue shoes, but that is a good idea, since they wouldn't clash with my jeans.
And I love, love, love the sweaters you posted--especially the first three!!!

      Sue,
Here is a link to shoes like Vishenka mentioned that are marked down. I got Pumas on sale from them a while back and really like them.

        OK-

Next- pants for my athletically built but shortish spouse (5'9").

If I never see another pair of dockers (yes, he owns pleats...) it'll be too soon.

I just bought him two very nice CK sweaters, you know, the ones that have a slight turtleneck but it's zippered- the models are usually shown wearing a t-shirt underneath? I bought him two- one a blue stripe, one a dark red.

Any pant or jean recommendations? and this is a man who thinks filing his fingernails would be an assault on his masculinity...

LOL! Jenn, DH thinks that wearing dark red is an assault to his masculinity.

First I would suggest to go with a store/line that carries different lengths, so that a waist/height combination can easily be worn straight out of the store. DH likes Gap, BR, JCrew and Brooks Brothers. Although he considers JCrew to be on the gay border. Also consider a darker wash jean as another pants alternative. They look great dressed up with a jacket or even paired with a simple t-shirt.

Here are some ideas from the sales racks at the Gap (all 3 are cotton and machine washable):

Thought I'd sort of revive this thread...any ideas on where to find decently priced, stylish (business casual) low wrinkle/wrinkle free (NO IRONING/No DRY CLEAN?!) clothes for women? I am 5'3", around size 8 or 10, hourglass shape....I'm just getting sick of ironing the St John's Bay and Old Navy Khakis! I have found some travel collections...but they seem so DARK themed (black, black, black) I LOVE red, and I'm willing to try stripes (narrow) and different prints (usually small). Thanks in advance for help. Shoes are always weird for me, too. I think I only own about 5 pairs! BTW, this thread is really great! I just finished reading it from start to finish!

<gasp!> Blasphemy! I buy shoes that have no purpose except to look pretty while they sit in my closet. Once you have kids, there's nowhere to wear stilettos...

Marla, I'll have to think about the no ironing/no dry-cleaning rule, as 99% of my work clothes need to be dry cleaned and ironed. The only thing I can recomment off the top of my head are wools and stretchy blends, they tend to wrinkle a lot less than cotton but unfortunately often need to be dry cleaned. I also heard a lot of raves for Express no wrinkle washable pants but haven't tried them myself.

As for shoes, I need a bit more info - style, heel, price, color, etc.

                    Marla,
I do like the black travel stuff -- is that microfiber? It is nice in terms of wrinkling. Maybe something red with those black pants?

I, uh, wash DH's nice non-wool pants and take them to the cleaner to be pressed. I hate ironing. I had to look around for a cheaper place but found one (one of the $1.50 a shirt places). I can't remember how much it is, but so worth it. Maybe you could try that?

Yeah, you know, I just need to spring for the dry cleaning! And some of the microfiber stuff would look cute with bright colors....

As for the shoes...I'm looking for something pretty basic that could be worn with khakis/dark green and the like-- probably brown, not too high heeled (if heeled at all) I love fun stuff but nothing too crazy...I think part of my issue (with shoes and especially clothes) is femininity...I am not a girly girl, but I think I need to look more stylish/feminine (read, not worn out mommy-style!!!! ) I have a pair of microfiber gaucho-like black things which I wear with black boots (to the knee) and sometimes red or other colors. Somebody told me I looked very "sassy" which I thought was a nice compliment. I guess I'm aiming for SASSY but professional, esp. when thinking about the warmer weather coming to CA. Thanks again for all the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marla, here are some sassy looking flats.

These are from Nordstrom's sale page:

Not sure if you can go as casual as these but I really like them.

                            Marla,
I found some cute shoes, posted them and today the post is gone!

btw, have you tried that wrinkle releaser spray? I don't think it works as well but it's better than nothing.

                            Might be too casual:

These are the ones I posted before:

sob, I want to move back to VA so I can wear nice shoes again and not have to wear snow worthy boots.
