So....how do you re-size the photo small enough? I tried but couldn't get it to work.

Open it in Photoshop and resize to 1" wide. and save as something.

Thanks, Tracy. I think I figured out the problem -- I don't have photoshop! I have some Dell photo deal that I didn't pay the renewal on and so my options have been limited.

I think I have a back up plan.

              Changed it.

It's still not me - I'm not that small, fat, and bald.

But, it's a lot cuter than I am.

So....how do you make the file size smaller? I have an avatar for Yahoo that's pretty fun. Unfortunately, the small jpeg is 15 kb. On the profile page it says the file has to be 6 kb. Is that correct? I can't get it to work. Woe is me ... and virtual me.

Angie, the easiest way I can tell you to do it is to send it to me, and I will fix it up for you and send it back. Any other explanation would take too long and require you to have the same software I was telling you how to use. You have my e-mail, so just ship it to me, and I shall ship it back.

Angie, you can try this website: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ . I just could not for the life of me figure out how to shrink my picture down without really screwing up the quality of the picture. I was able to shrink it down on this website without any problem. I think I told it to make the image 96 pixels wide (or however big avatars can be on this site) and I set it to best quality and the image worked.
