Congratulations!!!! I have been to Shreveport and liked it (a long time ago). I have friends who went to LSU and it is supposed to be a good "college town" I'm happy for you. If I'm not mistaken they have a Vet school!!!! I could be wrong, that might be Mississippi State.

LSU does have a vet school....but it's in Baton Rouge....at the other end of the state. I'll find a job though, and actually make real money instead of slave wages, er I mean, a resident's salary.

I envy anyone who will be making real money and living in a good COL area. Very cool. Congrats!

I am so glad that it sounds like you will be able to work out prelim year and have a place to continue your career. I told DH and he thought that Shreveport might be a 4 year program? Then he wasn't sure which LSU program was 4 years...

Shreveport was always a 3 year program. The LSU-NO program was 4 years, but dropped it down to 3 just in time for Katrina. Still waiting to find out about the prelim. Best news is, there would be no MICU rotations there. Ugh...

Congratulations! I have actually heard that Shreveport is a pretty cool place. When do you find out about prelim year?

Found out that they're holding on to all the prelim spots for LSU grads...and they're being stingier since the hurricane displaced many of the New Orleans grads.

So now we get to come up with plan B. Fun

Does that mean you scramble for a prelim spot? Do you have to wait until after general match then? That stinks!
