PS- now he's very glad but at the time, he really wanted to go to Hawaii.

I think 10 for both times. Or maybe 8 for the first because it just didn't have the stress factor of the second. The second match earned that 10!

Oh, am I happy that we won't be going through the match again. (I would say "never" but would hate to jinx myself).

I would say 2 for him and 5 for me. I was ok with any of the choices, as all of them were in NYC, he was unhappy because he got #5.

We're both a 10. DH did an away rotation at Maine Med last November and since I went out to visit him I've missed it quite a bit. We've been looking at houses online since even before Match Day, and we're going out in less than a week to (hopefully) buy.

We couldn't be happier.

I think 8. There was no one perfect place that had everything we wanted, our top two each sort of had 50%. We're pretty happy with what we got, but there are some negatives we'll have to adjust to, as well.

In hindsight we are both 10's. But at the time he was a 10 and I was a 7 just because I'd never been here and I knew it was cold. Now we love it, its a great program and its nice to be closer to family!

We're getting over it now, but I think we we're both about 3s when we found out. Of course it may all be peachy when we actually get there and all.

He probably would have said a 10 because he got in to a program he didn't think he had a chance with....

I was more like a 6 because I had no prospects in the city and hadn't considered moving there. Of course, it was close to my grandmother with early stage Alzheimer's (who needed help) and I had a new baby so it all worked out. It was just a surprise. Good training for the rest of residency!

I would say a 9 for me and a 10 for him. I was hoping for a little cheaper location, but am super happy to be returning to nyc. I think the stress involved in relocating and financial burden deserves a point taken away

As far as the military not allowing a fellowship (when he ALREADY had been accepted in a spot): Me: 2 Him: 3 (with 5 being neutral and 10 so ecstatic you're wetting yourself justl to define the perimeters ).

Me: 5... I really wanted our second pick (San Francisco), but was ready for a change of pace anywhere but the desert. DH: 7...It wasn't the top, but before our "at least we will match here." Honestly, I think he was just releieved that he matched in hi speciality. He met a few docs on the interview trail who were trying to match for their second or third time and it shook him pretty hard.

Probably an 8 from both of us. Hawaii to Texas wasn't what we had in mind, but we did rank it 3rd because the program had so much to offer him for training & research opportunities. Arizona was our first choice and Nevada was 2nd.

I'm not estatic, but I'm happy. I wanted to leave Hawaii (to experience living on the mainland), so I got that wish granted. I'll take it and make the most of this opportunity. =)

It was a 10 for him at first, and maybe a 6 for me. Two years later, it is probably a 6 for him ( but it could be just burnout) and an 8 for me. This place has been good to us, and has definitely grown on me.
