Since I moved to CA, I've rediscovered how much I love a well-done flan..and there's this patient whose wife makes us batches regularly...OMG...it is AMAZING, and it's frightening how easily it just delightfully and beautifully melts in your mouth!

Incidentally, the sweet person who makes it absolutely refuses to share the recipe.

I'm a sucker for almost anything sweet...I always craved gummy or chewy candy (sour and sweet) when I was pregnant, but I love it without being pregnant, too!! Mmmmmmm....fresh gummy bears or swedish fish......

I'm a "if I'm going to eat it, it'd better be orgasmic" kind of dessert person.

I'm not a huge cake person but I'm a big fan of puddings- tapioca, chocolate, real butterscotch, etc. I like the jello puddings but nothing beats a real live homemade pudding with real eggs and real milk.

I could probably live the rest of my life without eating ice cream again unless it's homemade vanilla from my mom's President's cookbook. We use the Thomas Jefferson recipe (and always have a pang when I imagine that it wasn't good old Tom making the ice cream...) I like the Ben and Jerry's but sometimes I think it's just to f-ing much in one bowl.

I like cookies but Thin Mints aren't really a cookie, they're their own food group.

When I worked at the candy factory, I turned myself into a chocolate snob and now the only kind of chocolate I'll eat is the super concentrated real chocolate. When you have a caramel square come out of the airconditioned tunnel and the chocolate is cool but the caramel is still warm....yeah, now THAT's a chocolate.

Luanne: Dh and I just polished of a cookie sheet full of nachos.
I layer the sheet with chips, give a layer with cheese (Tilamook cheddar from Oregon, of course!), put it in the oven for ~10 minutes at 350* and voila. Nacho heaven.

          mmm. nachos.
If I HAD to choose a favorite dessert, it'd probably be cheesecake followed by apple tart. But the cheesecake needs to be smooth and silky but not too soft, I'm very picky. And the tart has to be very thin and crispy with very thin sliced green apples. I'm a lot less picky with nachos.
