    Actually, you had mentioned Dixie Kitchen in an earlier post, so a few days after we moved in, when my parents came over to see the new place and we decided to go out to dinner, I picked Dixie Kitchen because it was the only place in town any of us had heard anything about. Everyone loved it (blackened catfish and fried green tomatoes, mmm), so thanks!

      I must really like it there.... Although it does a number on your tummy. The one in Hyde Park near the U of C campus has a more interesting and fun atmosphere--especially after church on a Sunday with women in huge hats and colorful dresses. And men in suits and decorative canes. So if you're ever down there and have a craving for their gumbo...

      Joy Yee's is also pretty good. They have a lunch special (up on Davis).

      Panera's good for bagels. Unicorn cafe is kind of nice too!

      We actually like the restaurant choices better up in Evanston than down here in LP.
