So I took Paris to the vet by my work today and it was my first time visiting them. When I arrived at 7:30 to drop her off for the day (the appointment was at 10am but I work 30 minutes from home so it just wouldn't have been feasible to do all the traveling so they said I could leave her for the day), they told me that actually, they couldn't board a first time visitation. I stared at the lady blankly, holding onto my bouncing and energetic pup, waiting for her to tell me that I was actually supposed to take my dog to work with me. Anyway, they made an exception after I threw a mini-fit and took Paris in afterall.
I went back for the appointment at 10 and they were running 30 minutes behind. After a few needles and $150, my dog was just as healthy as she had been at 9am but oh well! Since Paris is a rescue dog and a mutt, I asked the doc if he had some idea of what Paris might actually be - whippet? hound? pittbull? human? He gave her a good look and came up with a mix between Ibizan Hound and Foxhound with some Italian Greyhound thrown in for good measure.
Ibizan
Fox
Looks about right to me!!
Anyway (sorry this is getting so long!), we had to weigh her for her heartworm medication and as the nurse brought her from the kennel area, she wasn't paying attention and as soon as Paris got into the waiting room and saw me, she shot forward and knocked the nurse flat on her butt in the middle of the waiting room!! It is wrong that I thought it was hilarious?! I apologized and said something like, "Oh, she's such an excited puppy." and the nurse responded in a nasty tone saying "You need to take that dog to school! That's what the problem is!" :argue: She was so rude!!
I wanted to just look down at her on the floor and say, "Well, I can handle her. I'm not the one who got knocked onto the floor by a 40 lb puppy!!" :> But I didn't... I just apologized again. Oh, the things you wish you could say sometimes!! :^ :dog
