DH's urology program is 6 years (we just started PGY-5), plus - likely - 2 years of fellowship for a grand total of ... 8 years. :thud:~Jane

EM can be 3 or 4 years. We're in the first of 3; he sometimes discusses doing a critical care or toxicology fellowship which would add one or two.AlisonComment

We're in our 7th and final year of General Surgery (two years research between R4 and R5). We have two years of peds surg fellowship to go.

Reading through the replies, I feel very lucky that DH picked a relatively short residency. We're in the last year (4) of anesthesia. Luckily he couldn't make up his mind about fellowships.
