We live in Avon, Indiana, which is a suburb of Indianapolis. We are both Indiana natives. DH went to med school at IU, did an active duty OB/Gyn residency with the Air Force in San Antonio (BEFORE the 80 hour rule ) and then completed four years of military payback at Sheppard Air Force Base in a godforsaken part of north Texas. He is now in his second year of private practice here and things are going well. I am still getting used to the idea that we never have to move again if we don't want to.

DW did med school at OSU-COM (the REAL OSU- Oklahoma State University!). One year intern in Tulsa Ok, then Peds four years at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
We live in Florida and owe the Air Force two more years.

NYC. DH is finishing Anesthesia ( :dance ) this year, so we're looking for an attending job. Not sure where we'll end up this time next year. I'm happy to be almost done, excited about the future and scared about the uncertainty of it all.

                  DH is an IMG
who did his residency @ Wayne State University in Detroit
He then worked as a hospitalist in the cardiac unit @ Henery Ford hospital.

He then returned to Wayne state to do his 3 yr cardilogy fellowship.

He took a job as a professor of medicine w/ the university andserved as the dirctor of the echo lab, thus teaching echo cardiography for a year.

He was still wanting to do more so he did his 1 yr interventional fellowship in cardiology @ Wayne State.

We now live in AZ & he is in his 3rd year of private practice.

We did 9 years of residency, lab time and fellowship in the Northwest.

We landed a job in Minnesota doing Cardiac and Thoracic surgery. The variety is fantastic.

DH even gets to do some General Surgery (the fun laparoscopic stuff) in this job because his training was pretty cutting edge in certain areas.
