I did ballet in high school and in college. People used to say I walked like I had a stick up my butt. And that my feet pointed out like a duck. I never noticed it.

I was a ballroom dancer! I forgot about the dancing too. I also had small boobs until I was an adult. The boobs do pull at me now though!

Heidi, I would LOVE to do ballroom dancing, was that before DH or did he do it with you? I have been trying to think of a way to get mine to take dancing wiht me...maybe I'll wait until he's almost asleep post call or until the end of the week when I haven't seen him in days and he feels guilty.....I sound horrible and evil, I'm not.....really

Before dh. I would love to do it again. I've been thinking that I should see what resources are available around me. With a little refresher, I know I could teach it.

I'd love to learn how to ballroom dance but there is no way that DH would go for it. He wouldn't even dance with me at the stupid formal first year of med school. I had to be a slut and dance with the other husbands. :nono:

I used to have good posture (ex-ballet dancer here too), but then I started law school. Now my default posture is hunched over a book or laptop. Unfortunately, its become a habit and now I'm more comfortable slouching.

Mine is ok when I walk or stand (unless it's for very long) but crap when I sit (which is most of the time). I noticed that wearing heels helps because it's harder to keep balance otherwise.

When I was a kid, my mom used to stick a rolling pin behind my back (hold it with arms bend at elbows) when I was sitting. It really helps to sit straight. But it's hard to type.

Someone mentioned wanting exercises to improve your posture. Do pilates!!! It works wonders and I really need to start doing it again. It gives you great posture, much better balance, and longer limbs. Love it!

this one requires some props but it's great for opening the chest and reversing a lot of the slumping/hunching over. It's a gentle backbend!
