Well, we are now in the Air Force.
DW has been on base now for two days. She actually reported on the first day and was told that it was not normal, most people will report on the last day allowed! Oh well, I think she was nervous!
She had to have her sponsor show her how to pin on all stuff that goes on a uniform...and then tell her how to wear it! She hasn't got any idea since she hasn't gone through the Officer Training yet. SHe was terrified that someone would salute her and she would have to salute back! So our neighbor (retired Lt.Col) showed her how to salute.
All the places that she has been have been treating her like she is crazy, all have asked where she is coming from and no one understands why she doesn't have any prior military experience. She has been doing remarkably well, considering she was called a nurse twice today (and this is just the inprocessing!!)....that is one of her VERY hot buttons!!!! Her temper is growing, and that is a good thing!!
She is studying for boards too, so needless to say she gets a wide berth in the house! She will fly to Atlanta to take the exam from the 17-19th, then she will come home, do more inprocessing and comuter stuff for them, then she will leave on Nov 7th until Dec 10th for the Officer training stuff. It will be a strange Thanksgiving this year.
Anyway, just wanted to update and let you all know that the administrative troubles that we had throughout residency with the AF followed her here, but it seems to be getting taken care of much quicker!! And they are very excited about her coming to work since they are shorthanded.
