Yeah - where has he been? Haven't heard from him in a few months.
Logged in today for the first time since Lent started. My "screen fast" went very well and I'm still trying to figure out the best approach to spending time on the net. The summer is going well and DW is starting the application/interview process for "the job". We're finally in the last year of training!

I think I just spent a week as a patient with your wife's department. I don't think she was the fellow on call.... But a decent chance I'll be back soon 😁.

Good luck with the job hunt!!
Thanks! She's not on service at the moment other than an occasional overnight call, so yeah probably not her. Hope things are going well though.
We have been together a little over a year, I'm 27 and he's 24. I'm previously divorced and we met in the medical field. He was an EMT and I am a Paramedic on an ambulance. Im feeling quite overwhelmed and anxious over this process!
What about you guys?
We've been together for just a little bit over two years. Mostly long distance. We've only been in together in the same place for a summer. The plan was for her to come to med school here in MD but we all know how that goes. No one ever really has total control on where you get in. But immediately I found out she was going to school in ATL I turned in a transfer request at work to move to the ATL office with a January 2016 timeline in mind as I am planning on proposing towards that time (just recently sat down to have the TALK with her dad) and just to be safe I'm also applying to other jobs in the ATL area just incase the transfer request can be granted with the timeline I provided.
You are not alone with feeling overwhelmed and anxious and I thought I was very patient person until she started Med school. I am now learning the art of being extra-patient

Well that sounds very exciting, I wish you the best of luck with the proposal! It must be such a nerve racking yet fun thing to think about and prepare for. And best of luck with the move! I do think it helps that we live together, and he really makes every effort to be home with me when he can. He studies during lunch at school and I plan my errands and work schedule around his study schedule as much as possible so we can be together. That time is precious for me and it helps me get through the long days of being alone. The whole process scares the hell out of me, I'm also scared I won't be strong enough to handle it. But I guess anything worth fighting for is never easy? I haven't quite figured out why that is though! I also need to learn the art of being "extra-patient", if you know any good tips let me know!!
Paramedic and dog lover, girlfriend to an MS1, here to find friends and support during this journey
Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)
Mama to C (Jan 2012), D (Nov 2013), and R (April 2016). Consulting and homeschooling are my day jobs.
I'm a med spouse. I tried probing for other husband's about 6 months ago. Got attacked by the Academia spousal wing of the forum for not being Liberal. I backed off of participation substantially. A lot of the other spouses piped in and called off the dogs, but it was a pretty big turn off. For those of you just beginning the med spouse journey, buckle up. Medical school isn't too bad, but residency can be a beast. At least they've capped work hours significantly in the last 4 years. Good luck to you all. Be supportive and be selfless. It will pay off in the long run. Certainly can be a challenge to take a back seat to support your spouse, but it gives you a greater appreciation for what house wives have put up with for years. Kids definitely add to the adventure. Welcome aboard.
