My input is that you might want to watch out for names that sound like other names- I like Taryn and Mallory but I can see your daughter spending the rest of her life with "no, Taryn, T-a-r-y-n not K-a-r-e-n" or "Mallory, pronounce it like Valerie but with an M". I know this bacause my married name is HUSSEY- and it's a pain in the butt. So, now I just say "Hussey, as in tart, not Huffey as in bicycle".

Thanks for the thoughts. I too like Avery and hadn't thought of it. I also like Caroline but my dear husband doesn't. I know what you mean about having to pronounce the name. I have spent my life explaining that the name is Tiffany not Stephanie. Of course then I get.."oh like the diamonds." Actually I was named after a trash truck, Tiffany's Sanitation...but that isn't nearly as glamorous although perhaps more fitting. Mallory seems to be the favorite in my family but I can't get the brain-dead character from the family ties show out of my head. I hate it when there is a negative image that I end up associating with a great name.

When it came down to the wire, I gave my husband my top three choices and let him pick one!!!!

                      Luanne
                      Luanne
                      wife, mother, nurse practitioner

I love unique names and I vote for Regan! In fact, I'm keeping this name in mind for future reference.

That is so funny, Jenn! We constantly have to give phonics instructions on my son's name, Cade. It goes something like this, we mADE cADE.

He has been called kate, kadey, and cad. Gee I'm sure am glad we didn't go with my first choice, Orion (like the constellation).
