Congratulations on the little girl, Julie!! :babygirl:

Cheri - I felt the same way. It will eventually pass. I had a hard time entering a grocery store without feeling queasy....and was well into my 2nd trimester before I could even walk by the produce dept.

          Congrats Cheri!

Any tomato products, meat, and coffee made my stomach churn too. Some nights I would make dinner, have a bite, then make something else... have another bite and make a third meal before it tasted good. Keep the tums close by and when in doubt ...PB toast and milk always kept me satisfied!

Right, someone tell this baby its time to leave my uterus and come and meet us! I need an eviction notice!

Getting very uncomfortable, loads of braxton hicks that are stopping me in my tracks, especially in the evenings. I'm cleaning the house from top to bottom all the time, I can't stop...but that maybe because DF has come home and keeps making the place labour bag is packed, hospital bag is pack, the crib is together and has sheets ready to go on it. heartburn amd reflux are not being kind. baby is measuring about 8lbs+ and We're ready!

OB thinks I will go over my due date

I know I'm 17 days away from my due date....any tips on bringing on labour naturally? I've already got DF prompted to play his part

SEX IN SHOWER (well, not that one...your balance may be a little off)

...seriously, it's a pretty good for inducing labor...

Sex? Nah....I never got that. It's "safe" to have sex all throughout your pregnancy, but when you WANT to induce labor you're supposed to do it? Nah...I think a man invented that.

The baby will come when the baby is ready and no amount of walking (also safe during pregnancy), sex, castor oil or anything else will probably bring it on.

I have had 5 pregnancies, 4 of which were "normal" and I can tell you that we tried the sex and everything else...My first two were nearly 2 weeks OVERDUE and my last two were induced right around their duedates by my ob/gyn due to size etc.

I have a friend who took castor oil when we were doing residency because her ob *refused* to induce her when it was convenient. She had family visiting and on their last day, she took that big step...had horrible cramps...even some contractions. She had terrible diarrhea and all kinds of stuff. The end result? She didn't go into labor for 3 more days.

Just enjoy these last couple of weeks.

Kris, my OB says exactly the same thing! no baby will come until its ready. He wouldn't dare do an induction unless clinically indicated and will discuss it at 10 days over or ultrasound indicates placenta is failing. I'm happy with all that, just wouldn't mind if she were ready anytime now

I must keep reminding myself to enjoy the undistrubed sleep (bar toilet breaks) until that time!

I heard stimulating your nipples might help.....

My OB has promised induction at 39 weeks as long as everything is otherwise normal. I guess ACOG has sanctioned induction at 39 weeks as long as the circumstances are "right." I will have my 29 week appointment on a Monday, turn officially 39 weeks on a Tuesday and start labor on a Wednesday

Of course, now that I have my plan, nothing will actually happen that way!

With my 1st I tried just about everything, and she came when she was good and ready to- ended up having my labor augmented because my water had broken and didn't know for how long, and wasn't having any real contractions.

With #2, I ate every spicy food known to man and even made a castor oil shake, and he came the next day on his due date. So who knows....

With #3, I had a scheduled induction at 38 weeks. My OB is pretty strict about not inducing before 39 weeks. I had to beg and plead for the induction so it would coincide with dh's vacation. I thought I could force the little bub out a couple of days prior to my induction using the same methods as with #2, and all I got was heartburn and some reflux.

With this one, #4, I am scheduled for an induction the day before my EDD, again to coincide with dh's time off. I won't be trying anything this time around that is for certain especially with everything going on.

Babies come when they are good and ready.

Its interesting to read your hospital and labour experiences.

The Maternity hospital I go to is all midwife led care and have a active management of labour policy which is really strict.

I choose consultant led care so that I don't have to follow the strict, strict policies and get a chance to discuss them. I really don't want to have my waters artifically broken, last time it my waters went before labour started so hopefully it will be the same this time and I was quicker than the 1cm per hour rule. We'll see what my OB says this morning.....hope the head is engaged but don;t think so, she's having way to much fun popping in and out of my pelvis!!!

We have a bakery here in town that is known -word of mouth- for "labor inducing cheesecake." I know three moms who swear it worked. The owner/chef says he will not make it for anyone unless they have reached their due date, but one of the moms I know lied to get it. She went into labor the next day. I don't know. It's what I've heard. It creeps me out too much not knowing what is in it.

Time for an update - how is everyone? How far along are you? Anything else you want to share?

I'll start. I actually feel pretty good other then still being pretty tired by the end of the work day which I'm attributing partially to the baby and partially to being bored with my job. I'm 21 weeks and 3 days today. DH finally got to feel the little one move last night, I'd been giving him a hard time that she didn't like him because for about the last week she'd be kicking up a storm and then when he put his hand on my belly she would stop. It took a couple tries last night but he finally felt her.

We started assembling the nursery this weekend. The dresser looks GREAT! I'm VERY happy with it - you can't even tell its a self assembly piece from Wal-Mart. Hopefully the crib will be in in the next few days and we can get it put up to.

How is everyone else doing? New baby moms too!
