Yeah, all the potential single strollers that go up to doubles aren't jogging strollers which is what we really want (but can't afford a double jogger and it's pretty stupid for a singleton to ride in a double all the time). I think we'll stick with the BOB for this one and then get a double if #2 comes close enough to need one.

I agree with Pollyanna, I'm too nervous to even set up a nursery, let alone plan for #2 when #1 isn't born.

Yes the P&T is definitely not a jogging stroller, it would work as one but doesn't have the shocks, etc. of the BOB. The BOB is super smoothe.

T&S one thing you might look at is whether or not you can find a jogger with an adjustable handle. My DH is 6'4" and he has a hard time pushing most strollers because they are just to short. I don't suppose BOB has added that feature??

I just went to do a side by side comparison and push A around in all of them. I learned one thing about the city select that might have put it in the front runner position! With the second seat it actually ends up having stadium seating. The second seat actually goes higher than the first so you don't have the kid in the storage problem. The downside is that it only goes up to 45 lbs while the Britax goes all the way up to 55. A is already 35. Granted, she's only gained about 3 lbs in the last year so hitting the 45 lb mark might take a while. BUT ya never know with this child.

Seeing some of these doubles makes me want to "have a reason" to buy the double. *drool*

We still haven't purchased a stroller, as we've been babywearing him all over the place - maybe it's time to get serious about one.

The city select stadium seating is good bc the kids both have a good view. But keep in mind, you cannot see the kid that is in front while pushing the stroller and the mfr recommends putting your smaller child in front for better balance.

For the record, I love my city select thorns and all. But I figure that I helps to point out its weaknesses just in case they are a deal-breaker for someone.

MrsK can you reverse the front seat so that it is facing you?

Yeah, the man hasn't been home for a month to try the damn things out so I wouldn't know! (NC on an away rotation...which has been NOT awesome) From what I understand, the handle does not telescope but there may be a kit...I'll look into it. He may also have to suck it up because we all know who's running with the kiddo and I'm not fussing with removing handles on/off every time I need to go out. I mean I love him and all but a handle for someone who's 6'8'' ain't gonna fit little ole me. He's pretty good about sucking it up though, honestly, nothing fits him (our bed, normal shoes, most standard size cars, suit jackets, etc.).

Zoe, I have not tried to turn the front seat toward me with the back seat full. Right now, my toddler (K1) is in the front seat facing away from me and my infant (K2) is in the carseat on the back seat position facing me. (BTW, you have to get the 2nd seat kit and carseat attachment to do this. I'll put a photo in my gallery.) I suppose I could turn K1's seat around but I think his feet would be in the basket. If I did that, he wouldn't be able to see me or anything else because he'd be below K2's seat.

Tulips, we had a Zooper jogging stroller (LOVED that thing) and it had an adjustable handle. I think I just pulled a little knob out and swiveled it, no kit required. I think your DH still might have a tough time, regardless of what stroller you get.

Agreed. That's why I'm probably getting the BOB regardless of its inability to adjust the handle height.

Well after hundreds of hours of obsessively researching strollers, I just bought the Baby Jogger City Select. I can't WAIT to get it!

We have a City Mini Double and LOVE it. It's also taken a ton of beatings and is still in great shape.

MrsK, so far I love the city select! We've only used it as a single, but it is amazingly smooth and A seems really comfortable in it! The only tiny downside is that after spending $500 on the actual stroller, you still have to spend 20 on a snack tray, 20 on a parent cup holder, etc... but...that is totally worth it. Especially compared to the Graco travel system that we are replacing. whew that thing is rough
