  • I'm at least hanging on for 3 months. Seems like it might get better on its own by then. In 4-5 weeks I won't be feeding her during the day anyway, so I will have a built in break and maybe actually miss feeding her myself!

    • I don't think I've read all the posts here so forgive if you already posted... What's the plan for when you go back to work? Pump for the day and nurse at night? Can you do that now rather than at 6-8 weeks (what ever the end of your maternity time is)? I was also wondering (and there may be no way of ever finding out) is it possible your nipple anatomy is narrow or something? I know that sounds silly but the way you describe her just baring down.. it's like she is doing want she need to do to get milk out. Feel free to ignore me. I honestly have no experience and would have given up the first week if I were in your shoes. I seriously hope you can make it as far as you wanted to go with BFing.

                            • Oh B, I didn't mean to terrify. I should add that we successfully breastfed until we weaned around 18 months and I really enjoyed bf-ing. I just wish someone had told me: it can be hard at first, you're BOTH learning what to do, so give it time. I'm glad I had a good support group (DH, my mom, our ped, great LC) and we made it through the learning curve.

                              • There are so many weird/painful things involved with having kids, but the baby keeps you too busy to dwell on the pain too often. Haha, maybe that's not helpful either...
