Elliptical will hopefully be here on Friday or Monday at the latest! I need to have more pants that fit again!
This is also why I am liking Lose It - I can tell how many calories I have left at dinner. Which usually isn't much. Is it wrong that I want to exercise more so that I have more calories available to eat?

That is totally awesome you are getting an elliptical - so jealous!!

WGW - I had a hard time logging in last night and then around 12PM here, must have been everyone logging their lunches, lol. Seems to flake out every once in awhile. And I will be your friend! Just send me a PM with your e-mail address, and I will send you mine.

v-girl: if it makes you feel any better, I can't do more than 15 minutes on it.

I need to start using it daily to build back up. There's no reason not to use it -- it's in my dining room.

Well, just came back from my first weight watchers meeting (in recent times, anyway). I was successful at losing weight for my bro's wedding last summer, only to have it slowly creep on again because I ate with no conscience...ah well, what's done is done. I've got a good 15 to lose until I hit my goal. The new weight watchers seems much more do-able. Anybody else doing it? The best part is that all fruits and most veggies are 0 pts. I love fruit and will happily eat several pieces a day so this is great news for me. Here goes nothin!

Crap, day 5 and I just had a sugar binge. Seriously, I am an addict. It scares me.

I really don't need to loose weight, I just need to be more healthy in my nutritional choices. I don't want to the next member of my family to get diabetes.

Detoxing is so hard, one binge does not ruin it all.

I was nearly down to my postpartum goal weight before Christmas... stepped on the scales tonight, and I'm up five pounds. Blech.

My family left A LOT of leftovers after our late Christmas. I'm actually relieved that I've eaten the last of the chocolate mint brownies!

Joining in the get healthier crew. Joined the YMCA and have been working out daily since new years eve....my problem is food. I love it and need to eat less of it. Ugh! I've got 40 pounds to lose but would like to get down by 25 for my birthday in may...

Back to no sugar. I am a sugar addict, but find that after day two without it I can be around it with no strong desire for it. I need to get into a hot dress by the end of March.

ETA- My father and his sister both have type 2 Diabetes and their mother died of it at a very young age. For this reason I really cannot be overweight at all and plan to not eat sugar regularly permanently.

D - I've found that the more I work out, the less interested I am in food (surprised the hell out of me, for sure!). I do still eat, and I've said it many times on here: I'm NOT dieting. I will not succeed with a "cut out all sugar" kind of approach, b/c I will only want it more. I don't succeed with points, b/c I just focus on what I can't have. If I want something, I eat it. If I want 2nds, I eat those, too. I do consciously make better choices 99% of the time ... but when I want a burger, it's mine.

For me this is much less about shape than health. It might be b/c I've really only had a "cute" shape for about 6 months in my entire adult life, so it's not really something I long for. Of course I enjoy looking better and I love how many people have commented on my butt (another friend on FB, not on this board at all, did the same w/the same picture - it was hilarious!), but I truly just want to be healthy.

After the miscarriage, I am beginning to work on getting back to my regular self and then some. I started watching my intake today and hit the gym. I am starving! Is it dinner time yet? I am trying to write down what I eat and stay within a calorie range that I know works for me. I can't cut out anything completely.

Phoebe, just be really kind to yourself right now. Working out is fabulous, but don't punish yourself.

Shakti, ITA with the whole "repression" thing. Once I declare somethign off limits, it is like I unleash my inner demons and demand MORE!

Chrisada, like you I have a strong family history. My grandfather, uncle, and most recently my brother have diabetes. My brother is definitely healthy weight and just finished NYC marathon but still has to wear an insulin pump. I have to learn how to tame my sugar cravings. for life.

ITA. Just easing back in. It is more about getting there and staying busy. I wrote my original post right before 5pm so I was ready for dinner.

Wow, Kelly. That is really scary about your brother. I was actually really shocked that I didn't develop gestational diabetes with either pregnancy. It's really hard for me to eat one cookie or one scoop of ice cream, which sucks. That's why I just have to cut it out completely. I'm also back to working out everyday, which helps me control my food intake.
