Are these body image excuses? Because I love you dearly and say this with full respect of those issues (glory knows I have a truckload of my own), but have you seen the other women swimming at the local Y? Because here, you would be svelte, or nearly anorexic, compared to them.

Weight bearing activities are going to be really difficult; biking might be okay if movement isn't the problem.

Also, have you seen someone about it? It is amazing what a course of PT can do to help strength the muscles surrounding the trouble joint.

I actually stepped on a scale today. I am pleased, but have bigger fitness goals in mind.
As some of you may know, DH and I wanted to hike the John Muir Trail in 2010 -- instead, I had reconstructive surgery on my ankle, and didn't heal well enough for us to accomplish that resolution.
I have been training for over a year to get into shape, and drop weight, so that we can attempt to make our dream a reality sometime in late 2013.

I'd like to add 4-5 more lbs of muscle before then, and take some inches off my midsection/thighs. If I lose fat, that's always a plus.
Right now, I'm doing 4-5x a week of cardio/strength training for an hour, and doing 10 miles on the weekends (run/walk mix) for additional cardio. I will be adding weight/packs soon on the 10 miles, as I need to build up how much I can carry for distance purposes.
(Thankfully, DS in the Ergo has helped somewhat with that). Our target goal for each pack is approx. 25-30lbs., so we won't be too bogged down.

I want to be good to myself and live a healthy, balanced lifestyle. (This seems to get harder every year).

I'd like maintain my current weight but build more muscle. I want my cut arms back!

I want to run two half marathons next fall.

I want to commit to some sort of yoga/weightlifting/pilates class at least once a week.

I want to coach Girls On The Run and introduce my daughter and other little girls to the meditation of running.
In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.

I want to know the meditation of running!!! Perhaps instead of the drudgery of slap-slap-slap of my feet on the ground until the merciful ding of the alarm indicating I'm done. Or I'll hire someone to chase me.

I signed up for an 8 week boot camp. It starts Saturday. Over the past two years, I've lost 60lbs. But I'm jiggly. I hate the jiggle. I wear a size 10 jean. I'm totally fine with the size. But I still hate the jiggle. My goal is 10 more pounds and tone. I want my boot camp fitness to help my (horse) riding! I have tight britches to wear this year at horse shows, damn it!
They take before and after pictures at this thing...I'll share them in 8 weeks
            Good luck, all!!

I'm in. I am pre-baby #4 size but would like to lose two more sizes to be pre-children. I don't weigh myself.

I play tennis 2x/week and plan to work in Insanity and Turbo kick with that. I don't belong to a gym anymore.

I plan to track with Myfitnesspal starting next week when my kids return to school. It has me at 1550 cals per day. I am attempting a primarily plant-based diet and cutting out processed foods once I get to read my new cookbooks.

My BIL has a zombie chase app where "news alerts" occasionally interrupt his play list to inform him that zombies are chasing him. If he gets too slow, they start moaning louder.

Seriously, there is nothing like a running buddy to break up the monotony. Get out there and mingle!

DH has that app too and I just started it this week. I'm on day 2 of it. Still not enjoying running, but it's something for now. I'm hoping if I continue it, I'll one day feel that runners high I've heard about.

I ran for years but never enjoyed it till I trained for a half marathon. For me I had to train long enough to run an hour + to not hate it because the first 30 minutes are painful. So for someone who hated running it is possible to enjoy it... I literally went from hating it to loving it.

I'm a big fan of the running classes at our local running store. I did run/walk classes too--they were great! I don't think I have the willpower to do long runs alone.

Unfortunately, you'd think having childcare available at 5:15 in the morning would be a no brainer, but this group should understand why that is a problem! Also, while the weekday runs are in my town, the long runs on Sunday morning are at 6 am just five minutes from where we used to live, but 30 minutes from where we live now. That's a long drive to run.

I really like the Couch to 5K app if anyone needs a push.

Day one of ass kicking boot camp. Before photos, (just accidentally deleted one when moving to a diff album) weight, measurements and body fat pinching! (BMI, I'm guessing?)
OMFG. So many lunges and squats. My right knee gave out on me and I caught myself bf I fell over completely. My upper thighs and knees are so so so very tired. Going down steps...I have to be careful.
I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed in how NOT fit I am....
