It took time to put on the extra weight and it will take (more) time to take off. A healthy rate of loss is 1/2 to 1 pound per week *on average*. I can tell you that my body tends to drop 2-4 pounds in 2-4 days, then gain 1-2 pounds over the next week or so before dropping again. Patience is a virtue.
I have come to believe that regular movement matters much more than occasional workouts. My 10k step days leave me feeling better and lead better movement in weight and endurance than my 5k step days even if they include a lot of stairs or gym time. Also, my brother has lost over 30 pounds this year just by walking regularly (and overhauling his diet but not counting calories).Alison

I was feeling squishy through the middle (even though my weight hasn't changed much in the month or so I quit paying attention) so I started tracking calories again yesterday. Man, there were a lot of times I had to stop myself from grazing with the thought, "I don't want to have to log this!"Alison

Fitness/Weightloss 2014
I've been working out 5 days a week (10 min on stair stepper, 10 min on rowing machine and 15 min on treadmill OR 15 min on recumbent bike, 20 min on treadmill) for three weeks...there were also two sessions of yoga in there but I've been working so late I haven't been able to make anymore of them.
I am happy where I'm headed weightloss-wise (after being stuck for so long it's starting to come off again).
40lbs down since January 2013, only 13 more to go until I hit my new 2014 goal! I may reevaluate as I go...but so far, so good!Last edited by Mrs. MD, Esq.; 03-29-2014, 03:22 PM.

I've been doing Nutrisystem this week. I needed to jump start myself and I always make horrible food choices for the calories allotted. I have been hungry but not hangry this week, and I'm down a couple pounds. DH and I have been waking up at 4:30am so he can exercise and I can do a load of laundry and dishes before mayhem starts. It has made a big difference in both our lives.
