  • I gave up dieting. I feel so much better. No more low calorie or low carb for me. I started pushing myself to walk 30 min a day ... then an hour. Now I find I'm slowly more conscious of what I've been eating. Also, I greatly underestimated calories in some of my favorite foods...so I've cut back on them.

I have no idea about weight loss because I got rid of my scale.

I'm focused on getting healthier. Screw vanity.

          • I'm so hungry. So hungry. Thanking my lucky stars that I'm done with this 5 day starvation. I'm so hungry.

            • Tracking with lose it and made a little progress. Funny how I immediately eat more veggies

              • I have to say, having an infection in your small intestine is one way to drop weight quick. Sheesh.

Slowly moving around more and will be wearing my fitbit again soon.

                • So today the fitbit tracked my run with the jogging stroller just fine?? It's so inconsistent

So Polar recently came out with a new heart rate monitor that syncs with an app on your phone called Digifit via Bluetooth. It doesn't sync with the Polar watches, and I'm assuming it won't get picked up by the cardio machine. BUT Digifit syncs with FitBit and/or MyFitnessPal or LoseIt!

I just wanted to pass along the info if anyone is interested I think it's the H7 by Polar.

                        • Ugh, BonBon - that's not a fun way to lose weight!! I hope you start feeling better soon. Having gut troubles makes you appreciate all those times when you actually CAN eat things be it too little, too much, not healthy, whatever. At least you COULD eat, right?
We all whine too much about food and dieting when we really have no issues.

I'm sorry you've had something so serious going on but impressed that you can laugh about it.

                          • Newest theory. My house is dark and mirrors warped. Hear me out. I really believe in full length mirrors. Looking back over the years I seem to do best when I can see myself top to bottom on a daily basis. In NC I had an awesome discriminating mirror built into my closet door. There's nothing like that in this apartment so within a couple months of living here I insisted on going to buy one. For some reason C refuses to mount it on the wall so it just rests on the floor. I do my best to not have it but it's hard to do. Every day I get dressed, look at myself I think "huh! Not bad, looking pretty good!" And then as soon as I get to work and go in the bathroom I've morphed into a disheveled wreck! I've moved the mirror from one room to the next looking for more natural light / detail. I'm running out of options here! Just put it in the bathroom. Even if it doesn't give much detail perhaps seeing my pasty white ass on a daily basis will be inspiration enough.

Spring is definitely here. I've gotta up my ante!

                            • Ugh, I've had my Fitbit for one week and two days and I haven't met the 10,000 steps goal once. I'm always hovering just above or below 9,000. Last week was so packed with school work and getting ready for my parents to visit/our dinner party that I didn't work out once. I mean, I guess those are excuses but a more conscientious person would think "there are no excuses". I'm just kinda bummed. I have such a small window of time in the evenings to both work out AND work on my CAP project/two courses worth of school work. The end of the semester looms so I've got serious deadlines to meet if I want that diploma. What I wouldn't give for a treadmill desk. Or, that I could simultaneously work on my project and bang out 45 minutes on the elliptical.

On the other hand...I'm so damn busy and stressed I have little appetite so I'm not eating a ton. I've gotta get in gear...when will it click???

                              • Weight loss here has been tough the last few weeks. I have so much going on that I haven't made my diet a big enough priority and thus the loss has stalled a bit. I'm still down 21.5 pounds since the beginning of the year but I could be at more loss if I would check myself and focus on it. I hate that I make everything else worth my time before making my health worth it first.
