I did upper body weights today. I also deactivated my fb account so I could step away and take a break from social media for awhile. I need to focus on my health and my goals.

Ended up running a 4 mile hill race in a team when their runner dropped out. Ouch. Hobbling this morning.

I started a partial liquid diet this weekend. I'm doing shakes for breakfast/lunch/snacks and meat/veggies for dinner. It's soley as a way of jump starting weight loss. My goal is 1 week. If it works out, I'll try 2. I've managed 2 days so far.

I haven't weighed myself so I won't know if I lose weight. The scale is too depressing.

Michelle, I'll have to look up HIIT! It sounds interesting. Thanks.

I weighed myself today out of curiosity and I've lost 3 lbs since I started on Friday. I was only going for a modest 2 lbs a week. I'm sure it's part water weight and I will report back officially on Fridays since I started on a Friday and will be measuring my progress weekly.

The thing I realized about starting upper body weights again is that I tone up quickly. I swear the next day I was a little sore but I already had arm muscles showing and I started with simple exercises and light weights. Muscle does burn more. My left side is also significantly weaker than my right side so I'll need to work on strengthening that.

Taking a break from social media has also been very nice with lots of peace and quiet. I can feel the change is in the air.

Exercised today. I've lost four pounds over the last two weeks! Eating is still hard. Afternoons I'm just so freaking hungry.

I'm easing back into gym time, not having trouble eating in range. First private yoga lesson on Friday, I'm pumped!!

Mapplebum I'm afraid to ask what your new avatar picture is.

My new used bike broke this week. I'm waiting on dh to fix it when he gets a day off. So bummed it may be a craigslist burn. I was loving it at first but by the third time I rode it there was this slip of the chain and a sliding metal sound.

I checked with the property management office on the progress of the bike in our little gym and they said the repair person ordered the part so we're just waiting on that.

To top the week off my Mom surprise visited us. I spent two days on the strip with her at a hotel going out to eat at buffets and of course I wrecked my diet to keep her company. It was fun though. We also did lots of shopping at the outlet malls and I have blisters on my toes to prove it and felt really sore from all the walking.

I still managed to lose weight but not as much as I'd set for my weekly goal.

Also one of the facebook groups I started that I turned over administrative duties too asked me reactivate my account as they were having some trouble with the group events when I went inactive. The last event is Feb 4th so after that I can go inactive again and focus, focus, focus.

So with all that happening I guess it wasn't time for me to start just yet. I'll consider this week and next week transition weeks so I can ease into when I can finally go straight and be strict.

Life is always happening when you're busy making other plans.

diabetic retinopathy of course! Embracing that whole "the eye is beautiful" thing

bummer about your bike and busted diet but sounds like you had a great time! How much did you spend on the bike anyhow?

First private yoga lesson this morning, yippee!!! There's a Power Hour class right after so a friend is meeting me at the studio, we're going to try to make it our "Friday thing." I've been doing pretty well with calories. Aim for 1,000 each day and end up between 1100-1500

I thought it might be an eyeball or a planet. There's a reason I'm not a doctor.

Dh spent $40 on the new used bike. I hope he can fix it, or maybe I can ask the property management who they use for their equipment repairs and see if they'll come to our place to look at it. The last time we attempted to fix my old new used bike we broke it beyond repair and had to junk it. I don't want a repeat of that since we just got this one and maybe avoid that by having the pro take a look this time.

Have a great time at your first private yoga lesson!

44 miles run this month. 4 weeks until Mallorca. Worked up the plan for the week and emailed to course participants. Hoping to get through road bike skills and onto the road quickly as they're bringing good experience. Could be a 400 mile week! Legs may take it, backside may not!

                          2015 January Encouragement thread

Today I realized I like exercising. It's hard while I'm at it but I feel so much better and look so much better afterwards as well. Today I didn't get to exercise in the daytime as I had O all day and I actually worked out after O went to bed. I think it's becoming habit.

Ides, word. I've been exercising a little everyday, and although I can't say I like it, it feels great afterwards. Today, half hour pilates video.
