Shoes are the one thing I stopped skimping on about 5 years ago. I go through 3-4 pairs a year (heavy use), and I can always tell I need new ones because my knees begin to feel sore. I still try to find the best price possible, but my shoes are still expensive. :/
Plus, it's hard to find a size 11 women's shoe. 😄

• I got fitted at a running store, but I bought a replacement pair on Amazon. I think after those, I'll probably go back in and make sure I'm still in the right shoe. They feel fine, but I had an injured knee at the time, so they couldn't see my stride very well.

• Yeah, that is pretty much my plan. One replacement pair of last years model to save money but then see if I can go get fitted again -- without kids and husband staring at me -- and get in a different brand. I might try to do some barefoot running too this summer and strengthen up the dang ankle muscles that slosh around!

I ran/walked a mile with my boy yesterday and I think there is improvement, but it is hard to tell since we were going at his pace, plus I got shin splints or something on our hike earlier in the day! Ow.

• I've been doing that for the last 3 pairs but I think this last pregnancy messed me up again. My feet and ankles go numb sometimes now

• I've had the same pair for over 5 years...

made it to the gym before work every day this week!!! Wednesday especially is tough because it's a loooong day but for instance, when I got home from the gym this morning I had 15 minutes to shower, eat, and pack up to leave. Lets just say all I ate today was protein shakes and beef sticks. That's healthy, right?

• Good for you!

I skipped the 5k class tonight because I'm going to a 5 am orange theory. I can pretend they aren't mutually exclusive, but let's be real.

Weigh in day tomorrow. Will I hit 10 lbs?? :/

• Lanzarote windy and wet....boooo. Running and scenery fab. DW's new bike needed some serious set up after cable stretch. Very tight tolerances on 11 speed front mech. MavGyver use of coins to set the 2.3mm (1 euro) gap between front derailleur and chain ring means she's been on the road and loving it. She rides, I take kids riding and go karting.

• spotty_dog, shin splints suck!! I've been wearing calf compression sleeves whenever I go over 3 miles, and that seems to be helping.

• That bike pic is making me want to go cycling. It's an early spring day here in Ohio....maybe we'll get the bikes out later and hit a trail.

HARD and hot power yoga class this morning. It was awesome! Mostly because I managed to hang with it the whole time and even hit a few handstands, side crows and fallen angels along the way. I love it when I have energy in a class. It's amazing how you can never tell what kind of day you are having until you start to move. Some are great, and others you just want to curl up in child's pose.

Weirdly, whatever I had was gone by morning. Maybe it was just a cramp? I spent the evening massaging it and alternating between the jacuzzi and pool.

Thurs I walked 10 minutes, jogged 20, walked 15. Yesterday I walked 45 briskly with DS. Hopefully will get out to jog again this evening but not sure -- we have a big day ahead!

• I pushed the 35 plus lb toddler in the wind. That sucked and I about died. The 43 lb four year old wanted to go. Ha, no!
TulipsAndSunscreen how the hell do you push two that size for miles every day hugely pregnant????

• Today I walked 15, ran 25, walked 20. My legs were okay but my heart wanted to explode, heart rate in the 170s-180s while I ran! Still have some endurance to recover I guess...

• Today's run went so well I feel like I *might* really train for a half in August. I realized that the kids being out of school doesn't have to cramp my style -- when hubby works, he rides from 9-11, so if I can be home by 9am (should be easy enough) I can run as much as I like even on work days. This could work...we will see how my body takes the increasing mileage though...
