OK--I'm back. Actually I got back Monday morning (after sleeping in the Atlanta airport overnight!) and have been so f***ing behind that I haven't even checked in here all week. I've got time when Mitchell naps (sometime between 12 and 3 every day) or in the evenings. What works good for you guys?

Sue, I'm sorry, I was going to try to set up a time while you were gone....

I think my timezone makes it a little difficult for evening (when everyone else has time, we'll be eating dinner). Around noon or 3pm eastern would work for me on Monday. Otherwise, I can be pretty flexible next week.

OK, so if it's 3pm eastern, than it's 2pm CST? I can do that (or I could go as early as 1:30 to 2pm eastern).

Ok -- I'm planning on tomorrow, Monday at 3pm eastern time to chat. See you then!

Drat....it looks like the chat might not be working. We might just have to post in one of the forums.

Hey Nellie, I tried to click on chat, but it doesn't seem to be working. I suppose we could just post messages???

Ok, it's noon here. Who all is here to chat about the book? I don't think we can get the chat to work and, of course, my children aren't going to cooperate. I can use 3-way calling if there are only three of us.

Sorry, Laura! We did discuss it and ended up doing it by phone since the chat was down and my kids were up and it was just the two of us. Maybe we could start a thread to discuss it?

I finally finished this book after starting it, well, over a year ago. I had to re-read it start to finish because I had forgotten most everything I had read before.

I really liked book. The logistics of it all and figuring out where and when everything happened was a little difficult, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. How old is he again? Is this a present self or a future self?

Did anyone else see a parallel to the medical lifestlye..never knowing when they are going to be back, always waiting.... I mean sure, it isn't the same, but I feel like I am always waiting too. I could really identify with that feeling.

I didn't think about that Heidi, but you have a point about it kind of parallelling medicine. You might be at a party, in bed, whatever and suddenly they disappear.... I suppose we at least get a little warning before they take off.

And they don't come home naked and dazed. At least they better not. Kidding aside, I did think of that as I was reading specifically as it related to her having an independent life and not waiting around for him.

Anyone still discussing this? I loved the book and I am new to the boards. I completely agree with the connection to the medical wife lifestyle.
