DH's uncle's family was filmed for a week and the cameras are easily forgotten and what flies out of the mouth is what flies out of the mouth. I say more power to them, they had a set of twins then 6 more and they're still married and functioning on a daily basis, I think I'd go insane.

        I've been watching it periodically. I have to admit that their bickering turns me off a little. She is too demeaning to him for my comfort level.

        We were living in Hershey, Pa when their sextuplets (sp?) were born. They were born at the same hospital as my kids and where Dh did his residency. It was a big local news story at the time. I was surprised to turn on TLC recently and see them front and center. I can't imagine.

            Does it seem to anyone else that the bickering seems less in the newer episodes? Maybe the editors are filtering it out--- sort of like Amazing Race where there's only one or 2 really "bad" pairs, whereas everyone pretty much used to be bickering absolutely non-stop.

            Maybe America has spoken, and bickering is out? :huh:

                not that I have kids...

                but my sister was saying recently that they were watching videos from when my niece was born and she wondered who that heck that b*tch was... meaning her. I noticed the change in Kate (and my sister) too - maybe it's jsut adjusting? getting past survival mode?

                  That lady's niceness freaks me out! How can someone stay that calm 24-7? And am I remembering correctly that she home schools all 17 kids!?!?! Did they stop having kids or does she have 18 in the oven already????? ODD very ODD!!!

                      I love watching this show. I think this season Kate is a lot more calm and watches what she says. But then again, the little ones are a year older so it might be easier each year for her. She's very Type A and has OCD, but I'm kinda like that too (not that extreme) so I can related to her quirky-ness. I'm just amused by her, and I think she's doing the best she can raising all 8 on a daily basis.

                        I think it's probably also a lot easier since Jon was able to switch jobs and has easy hours now. Plus, the cash they must get from TLC must help with the stress. Plus they've hired at least two nannies.

                        Yeah, I'd be a bitch too with 8 little kids. I think it must be easier now than it was in the beginning of the show.

                                As for original topic - yes Kate seems a lot more calm this season. I think the older 2 starting school and getting a babysitter really helps her mental state.
