Night One was fun- but we didn't get to see the In and Outlaws because they're getting so popular they're now the headlining band- and they weren't going to go on until 10:15. But it was fun to hang out with the guys from the band and some of the neighbors. We ran into our lederhosen wearing neighbor (at the Beethoven, of course- you have to walk right past there to get almost anywhere down here) and he's all excited for tomorrow and the German Breakfast tacos....I'm craving one already.

I'll report in tomorrow. or whatever "tomorrow" is in German.

OMG- I think I have permanent hearing loss. Too fun. I think at least 60% of the crowd were Germans. The guys next to us were hilarious. Alternating between yelling in German, yelling in English and then some mixture of both. There were at least three guys in lederhosen, and most of them were drinking beer. (the guy next to us told my neighbor, "I need this for my nerves." (I had diet coke, fyi- too much to do today to fit in a four hour nap) The German Breakfast tacos- YUM!

I'm pissed that I have to be in Austin at a training all day on Wednesday.

                    Go Spain!!!
I once lived in a co-ed (over 21) dorm @ IU Bloomington. The Dutch students walked into the dining area all sporting t-shirts that read " WE ARE THE DUTCH who the hell are you?" Their collective arrogance was a bit much!!
I had fun answering w/: " We(Americans) are the reasonyou don't Dutch don't speak German!"

                      I'm so comflicted-

                      Spain: Tapas, sherry

                      Netherlands: tulips, cheese, beer

                      I can't decide.

I'm cheering for Netherlands, b/c I've been there and I've never been to Spain. My kids are cheering for Spain, b/c our very good friends are Spanish (and I'm thankful they're IN Spain right now, or my choice to cheer for the Netherlands could cause some friction).

Half the house for Netherlands (my exchange student sister is Dutch) and half the house for Spain (because they are a great team and who could resist that human torpedo header?).

I got a bunch of Dutch treats for the semifinal game... spekulaas (spice cookies) for the office, and chocolate and stroopwaffels (kind of soft syrup cookies) for home. My mom is apparently making a Dutch feast on Sunday, and I am very sad I won't be there for it.

                            Anyway, Oranje all the way.

At least they got third place. and I'm about to jump on a plane for Uruguay after I googled it.

Tomorrow is going to be utter insanity at Beethoven's. I'm sure today was but I had to get some of the never ending yard project done because tomorrow is going to be a wash. (Thank goodness the neighbors all showed up and forced me to stop doing yard work and jump in the pool instead)
