Wow school doesn't start at Oregon until the end of Sept?! That's super late. No wonder they had a hard time filling seats.

Yep, the first day of class is September 24th here but they're a little different since they're on the quarter schedule with a fall, winter, spring and summer term. link

Here we go. Some ducky tailgating photos to click through, photos link. Now you can all see what some Duck fans are like in the land of yellow and green.

Sad performance by OU, even with a win.

In other news, the Aggies have decided to make their obnoxious presence known:

        http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...tball/20047925

So, SEC, was the potential increase in Texas recruiting worth a buttload of obnoxious fans?

Honestly, I don't think this is OU's year and I'm really looking forward to watching A&M get pounded in the SEC more than anything.

The results came in today for the Ducks home game ticket sales. They reported that they did sale out and maintained their home game sale out streak. They said students rushed in and picked up the rest of the tickets at the last minute. Also there is a lot of confusion on how to say the new QBs name, Marcus Mariota. One of the sports announcers tried three different pronunciations during the Oregon vs Arkansas State pregame. There is a ton of feedback from the football world that his talent really shined that game. Ducks won 57-34.

Oregon Ducks home game in around 20 minutes vs. Fresno State.

Yell Oooooo! We're not watching it but when we went to run our errands earlier this morning we saw lots of colors in the land of yellow and green. Sheesh I can't believe parking is $15 near campus for the game. We also saw the most huge banner a little plane was flying around of the Oregon ducks colors around the city and above the stadium. I wonder how much they spent on that piece of advertisement?

Perfect day for tailgating at the Big House. About 70 with a breeze. Our youngest went into the game with daddy, and the oldest stayed back at the tailgate with me. And we won.

Wish we had your weather today Chrisada! It was sunny, hot, and humid - with a breeze. Until right before half time. Then the cold front moved through, it poured during the band's performance, hehehe. I came prepared as everyone should when you are going to be outside for several hours!

But, back to the football, the rain kinda stopped and we shutout a FCS team. Yawn. The next two games will be far more interesting.

Aww, cute pictures! Our local newspaper, The Register-Guard, is updating their website with pictures of the game as it's going on today. Link

edited to add the final score of the last football game.

Oregon won against Fresno State 42-25. Here is the story by the AP Sports Writer and pictures of the game.

I am not from a football school, I enjoy football but do not understand it on the detail level like I understand basketball.

Can someone explain to me why the coach of a good Big 10 team who has taken that team to 3 Rose Bowls would leave that team to take the head job at Arkansas?

Why wouldn't WI try to keep him? He's a big 10 guy - went to school in the Big 10, has always coached there. Is Arkansas in the SEC? See, I don't even know what conference they're in...

Probably just couldn't compete with whatever he was offered at the other location. Another thing to consider is that personalities play into college/university personnel changes all the time. If the coach didn't get along with the president, they may not have tried all that hard to keep him, regardless of his pedigree.

Cuz we don't want 'em! Honestly, he's not that good of a coach. Barry Alvarez still pulls the recruiting strings. Bielema is a horrible in-game coach and a terrible influence.

Anybody could have taken last year's team to the Rose Bowl. And we only made it this year because the best team in our conference is sitting in the time out corner for being naughty. I am a huge badger fan, but we are definitely not the best team in the Big 10 this year.

He's a colossal douche and I'm glad to see him gone. My newsfeed is filled with others who feel the same. He's gotta be in the top 5 most hated people in the state.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Yep, the magical, wonderful SEC. You know, the only conference where football is played...at least that is what you'd think after hearing A&M and others spew their adoration.
