That was a ridiculous turn around for ND considering their stats the last few seasons. What happened? DH and I were discussing it.

Well, DH's opinion is that ND had a weak schedule, and them going to the Natty is a fluke (sorry ND fans!). His Stanford is the only team that beat my Ducks! That was an interesting day in our house. Most chatter around Oregon is that Chip Kelly was hanging around for one more year to go to the Natty. Since that didn't happen this year, he's no doubt going to be snatched by the NFL. He's just that good of a coach.Married to a peds surgeon attending

They typically have a pretty light schedule full of rivalries that put asses in the seats. With a new coach, different recruiting, and some time to rebuild, they've done well. But I don't consider them a national champ caliber team. They are undefeated because they don't play many ranked teams, and even fewer from tough conferences.

Its not that much time though, Weis has only been gone for 2 years. These really aren't Kelly's players. But I fully believe that a good coach can work with what he has. I do agree that they don't play that hard of a schedule though.Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

Several of the players Weis recruited left with the changing of the guard, even guys that already played at ND for a while. It's certainly not an entirely different team, but there is enough of a paradigm shift to create a completely new dynamic. That, plus coaching changes? That's enough, with a weak schedule, to have a great season.

We all figured he was but there was a lot of the behind the scenes negotiations out of the spotlight after his announcement he was staying at Oregon. This news is all anyone can talk about today since 9 AM PT here. The media staked him out at the airport when they found out he was taking a private flight to Philly.
