Jen I have no grandparents alive on my side bec. they were older parents. My boys on DH's side however have three great grandparents alive and well! People mistake DH's father for his brother. I'm 32, my first cousins are in there late 50's!!

One of my friends who had her first child at 42 was discussing AMA in her birthing class. She mentioned her age and the woman sitting next to her gasped "You're the same age as my mom!".
About a month ago we were at a hotel where a 50th year high school reunion was being held. We thought the participants were just adorable until we realized that both of our mothers were having their 50th HS reunions also. It goes by fast.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

Today, K1 was an awesome big brother. (Disclaimer: This is totally gross but very sweet.) As I was putting the boys to bed, K2 got sick over the side of his crib. I pulled him out of bed, stripped him to his diaper, and began rushing around to clean up the mess which was all over his mattress and dripping down the side of the crib onto the carpet. K2 was inconsolably howling and trying to get back into the crib. I cannot blame him since I always thought the worse part of being sick was when my mom had to change my bedding and all I really wanted to do was lay down. Poor kid was so miserable and I just couldn't move quickly enough. K1 was getting in my way and I was getting frustrated because I didn't want the boys to get into the vomit. Then I noticed that K1 has gotten a towel and put it over the puddle that was dripping off the mattress; he was actually doing a better job of containing the mess than I was. And I hear K1 telling K2, "I'm sorry you threw up. I hope you feel better real fast." I praised K1 for comforting his brother and encouraged him to do more. So he ran off and brought back two toy harmonicas from the playroom. Not exactly what I had in mind but K2 thought it was hilarous and stipped crying to play a duet with his brother. Should have known that his big brother would know what to do.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.
