  • Today I finally found a drug store with the flu shot in stock! Just in time too since I have to get on a plane on Friday (grody nasty germy cesspool)

P.s. my phone totally autocorrected "shot" to "shit". Thanks phone, you really get me

Yeah I picked up a few extra tiny bottles of sanitizer for the plane. I figured I was too late for it to be completely effective but gotta be better than nothing, right? :-/

        • Today, K2 (19mo) told me that his teeth hurt. Woke up rubbing his cheek and saying "owww." I asked him if his ear hurt and he said, "No. Teeth!" then he opened wide and put his finger where a molar should be. Guess he's working on a tooth but I was kind of blown away that he told me.

Today, K2 provoked K1 into a fight by holding his fist inches from K1's face, not waiving his fist or hitting him, just doing that "I'm not touching yooooou" thing that younger brothers do so well. K1 took the bait and landed in time out. K2 apologized when K1 was released from time out.

Today, the K Bros began their parents as teachers evaluation. K1 told the PAT educator that he does things on purpose to upset mommy while K2 blew her mind by demonstrating some 2yo and 3yo milestones.

Totally. Loved your outfit today! How did you like my pj pants with the sea birds all over them? Nautica makes fun jammies.

                • Today, I had an awesome and very busy "date" with my 3yo who choose to wear a mustache for the occassion.

We went to nature class. The whole way there, he insisted that we were going to learn about blue horses there even though I protested that they don't have blue horses at the nature center. They learned about hedgehogs and read a book where a hedgehog meets various animals including a horse. When we got to the part about the horse, K1 climbed into my lap and whispered, "See, I told you that we were going to learn about blue horses."

Then we went to see "Mr. Dave" (K1's barber) and he squirmed through a haircut. His hair turned out a little too short but he got a blue lollypop when they finished so he's happy. (Anyone care to guess what K1's favorite color is?)

Then we had our traditional lunch at Applebees where K1 dipped his corndog in applesauce and declared it "the most perfect food in the world. Ever."

After lunch, we shopped for pants for DrK and got K1's feet measured for new shoes. (No nap today. Yikes!) Then we went to the library where K1 picked out 5 books, a Winnie the Poo dvd (which K2 is calling "winnie poop potty") and (sorry, this is the most amazing part of the day), K1 used a public restroom for the first time ever. Then he loudly announced his success to all of the librarians at the circulation desk and told me that he deserved a treat. He won me over when he told me that the treat should be frozen yogurt which would be better if he shared it with his brother. So, we piked up K2 -- who was only willing to leave school once K1 told him that he'd be sharing a treat with him -- and the boys enjoyed their treat. K2 kept telling K1 "thank you! thank you!" the whole time that they were licking their dishes.

And now K2 is hopping up and down in front of me shouting "POOP! DIAPER DIAPER!" Yup, I live in a world of poo and I'm happy about it.

ETA: I forgot to mention that K1 tried to pick up a girl at the nature center. He was looking for a bird in one of their cages and she helped him find it. So he turns to her and says, "Hey, you're nice. How would you like to come over some time?" Then his BFF/girlfriend showed up unexpectedly. He was excited to see her and tried to introduce her to his new friend.

                    • Random, but I thought it was funny. My dad went online to OU's system to pay my brother's tuition or whatnot. Instead of debiting the money from his account, they credited that amount back AND didn't take anything. My dad asked me about it. I thought he must be missing something and looked and he was right. I asked my boss while I was at OU IT about it (He was the project manager for the system when it went in).

Apparently someone had a processing error...hehehe. It's supposed to be fixed next week, but I find that hilarious. I hope they don't have trouble getting the money back from other people!

                      • Today, I'm taking K1 to see "If you give a mouse a cookie. . . " When, I started reading the book to him a couple days ago, I started "If you give a mouse a cookie. . ." and he interrupted, "He'll get a tummy ache and throw up?" Hope he's not disappointed that the mouse doesn't throw up. (Oops, hope I didn't spoil that for anyone!)

                            • So, that went to hell fast. He loved the show. It was in a children's theatre and there were several preschool groups there. He initially picked a really good carpet square in the middle of the room but then got intimidated when a hundred or so kids showed up. He sat in my lap for most of the performance. He was star-struck by the performers and exhausted by the time we were done, falling asleep in the car, but insisted that we go out for our traditional mommy-and-K1-lunch. After lunch, he fell asleep in the car and then woke up 3 minutes later when we arrived home. Then he tried to nap but couldn't. . . but he didn't want to come out of his room either. . . but he didn't want to stay in bed . . . or be quiet. . . but he couldn't fall asleep. So, we played that game for 2 hours when I would have just assumed go to the post office. When I finally *had* to get him out of the house so we could pick up his brother, he bit me so hard that he broke my skin through my jeans. So he landed back in his room for time out which was pretty meaningless since his whole point was that he didn't want to leave his room in the first place. I finally got him out of his room and into his coat and into the car. He told me that he bit me "cuz he was MAD" and we talked about his choices and appropriate ways to express anger. Then he fell asleep moments before we arrived at school and I had to wake him again. Now he's had about 10 minutes of sleep in 2-3 minute increments over the past 4 hours. He is behaving like a cranky, sleep-deprived intern and I'm MAD.

                              • Yikes! I'm sorry about all of that. What a series of crap

Today, I was up from 1-3 coughing (honey was no help, but it's yummy!). DH's alarm went off/was snoozed from 4:45-6:30. DD started screaming at 7:06, fell back asleep at 7:13, crying again at 7:26 for 2 minutes, back asleep until 8:18. When I went to get her, there was a nice pile of vomit in her crib (untouched - she puked in a pile and slept elsewhere I suppose). Reason for puking - I suspect it was the fact that she had an upset tummy on Tuesday and REFUSED to eat anything for dinner last night except pickles. Lots of pickles. DD has been a crabby butt all day long, needy, hungry (but not for anything we have in the house), dramatic. My coughing continues all day - combined with pregnancy and pre-existing incontinence issues - queue several wardrobe changes for me. Then, about 4 - my eye starts nice yellow mucus discharge and begins to turn more pink. DH (who is on call) just dropped off my eye drops. Did I mention we are supposed to leave for vaca on Monday? :sigh:
