    • Today, DrK was not working. For the longest time, he's been looking for something he can do with the boys on his days off. He usually resorts to taking them for a drive because he's overwhelmed when our toddlers scatter in a park and there are few structured activities on the weekends. He misses out on library story time and classes and feels left out when he doesn't know the rhymes and songs that I do with the kids. So, I found out that the large library downtown has story time on Saturdays. I figured we'd all go so he could learn the routine and, once he was comfortable, he could take the boys on his own from time to time. It's a win-win. I get a break and he gets to spend time with the boys. He thought this was a great idea. We went. And both of our boys behaved horribly! I take them to the library at least 2x weekly and they nearly always behave (or at least they take turns misbehaving). Now he'll never want to take them on his own.

        • Today:

          - My mom called to ask if she and my grandpa could come up to visit on her birthday next month. Grandpa has apparently been talking non-stop about his visit here a couple weeks ago and wants to come back ASAP.

          - DD1 and I discovered that her history teacher at her new school is MY old high school history teacher. I graduated high school almost 20 years ago in a town about 7 hours away. What a small, small world.

          • Diggity that is super cool

Today I am hoping it we are able to freon my car up again so we can have AC on the way back from Austin. As usual it is super hot in Texas and no AC is not an option with munchkin in tow.

            • Today I just wasn't ready to face the workweek and N is a little off, so I took the day off. Best idea ever. And I am so thankful I have a job that allows me to do so. I wasn't ready for another week with a messy house and no groceries. I've been super productive today and it is awesome.

Wow. Was he/she a good teacher?

This happened to us with vets. When we were in Cleveland, Moxie was referred to an internal medicine specialist. Turned out, he was the same vet that treated DrK's childhood pet - a diabetic schnauzer -- for several years in Maryland. The vet remembered the schnauzer and MILK who used to take the poor dog on a 2hr round trip for dialysis twice weekly. So, the vet knew exactly what we meant when we said that we would not have Moxie undergo any invasive or extensive treatments to prolong her life. That poor schauzer was so miserable.

He was one of my favorite teachers ever and was instrumental in my taking part in a trip to NYC to be a delegate to the UN when I was 17. We were all heartbroken when we he announced he was leaving our HS my senior year because he was a great teacher. He really connected with just about everyone and was very passionate about teaching not just accurate history, but also imparting enough context from that timeframe to help us understand why it was an important event.

She's very lucky because he is a great teacher.

                  • DD, that's awesome...I still meet up with my high school history teacher sometimes. He wrote my grad school rec! We need more guys like them teaching in schools...

Today, I slept in until noon. I went to bed at 4 AM though, so I guess that's 8 hours but I feel lazy.

Yes, 2 and 3 years apart. My body likes a certain time of the year to conceive. We didn't plan it that way. I don't really like it.
