    • Today, I came to the conclusion that I need to find a sugar daddy... I got to spend the last week at a hotel on Copacabana beach and tonight, my friend was given access to the VIP lounge at the Rio airport and I was able to talk my way in too. Free food, free drinks, free wifi that actually works. I was able to charge my phone and talk to the kids via face time.

That's not showing your age - I'm 27 and would LOVE to see the Allman Brothers and/or Bob Weir. Bob Weir just played with the Black Crowes but not anywhere near where I live

Hope you had a great time, I know the music was awesome.

              • I told my husband our copier wasn't working, and he said, "You know what it is, it needs a new car-der-idge."
                " . . . uh, car-der-idge? You mean cartridge?"
"Yeah, cartridge, sorry, I've been talking to that fucking dictaphone all day and you have to say some things a certain way to get it to spell the right word."
The way he said--so defeated!--cracked me right up!
I said, "What else do you have to say funny to get it into the report?"
                "Plate-uh-lets."

"Wait, is 'cartridge' a word that comes up a lot in pathology?"
"No, but you learn to fake a whole accent for the machine!"

Ha ha, my husband's traded in a Boston accent for a Dragon Dictate accent.

I'm astonished at some of the things that get spelled incorrectly in the dictating software.

Keeping the balance so your sugar doesn't spike is more important. Are you testing your blood?

Not yet - I'm still waiting for the endocrine nurse to actually call me and setup my counseling. I just talked to a couple of friends - one's a dietician teaching GDM management, the other just went through GDM herself - and got the basics of the diet.

                          • Yikes. Had to leave work to take DH to the doc. He came down hard in his ankle yesterday while playing basketball and is completely incapacitated pretty much. Almost can't walk, vomited last night after getting up to pee because the pain was so bad. I've never seen him in this much pain - ever. I'm hoping nothing is torn and no surgery is required. He can't walk or drive and was using a golf club as a cane this morning! I feel so bad for him. Also I'm really kicking both of us for deciding that no, we didn't need to move the crutches that had been in our attic for four years from NC to VA.

Yikes! I hope it is not something serious to require surgery. No worries on the crutches...they will probably give him new ones if he needs some.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

If he cannot do more than touchdown weight bearing... it isn't likely to be good news - sorry.
