We *just* left the house a few minutes ago after having been home since Saturday! I've actually quite enjoyed it a lot, we've been sleeping in and having pajama days and movie marathons ... fun!

Planning meeting for outreach program: 2 teachers, artistic director, and board member. Director and other teacher think it's cool to keep their kids in the room during the meeting. They were mostly quiet until the oldest, who looked anywhere from 12-15 started playing on the piano. He was definitely testing the grounds. Would stop, walk away, come back and start playing again. It was so loud I was having a hard time hearing the people across the table. Mother didn't say ANYTHING. When he started lifting a 4 year old up to pluck the strings in the bowels of the instrument (under the lid of a baby grand!) I finally said "I am really scared for her fingers."
No shit. Gahhh!!!!
Is this just a childless person thing? I'm pretty sure my mom and all of her friends would have stopped that crap in an instant.

This is why we have iPods, iPads, portable DVD players, leappads, DSs... And also why we have a strict "no volume" rule. The kids are welcome to use their headphones though.
When I have to schlep the kids to somewhere where adults are talking and trying to be productive, my kids must stay silent.Peggy
Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!
