Pumpkins at Wal-Mart...for $7-8!!! WTH?? They are cheaper at the Dallas Arboretum.

And I miss the days where they piled a bunch of them on hay out front. My siblings and I would go pumpkin searching. Good memories.

Maples are turning and mornings are super crisp but afternoons are still in the 60s and sunny. I had a Pumpkin Pie latte at my local independent espresso cafe. Yum! Bartlett pears should be ready soon, looks like a few may have escaped the scab that plagues my tree.

Try the area churches. They are usually better (or at least for a good cause).

Are these the baking & eating pumpkins or the carving ones?

I finally had a pumpkin latte yesterday. Quite yummy, but I still like a regular Mocha better...

The pumpkin latte I had last week was awesome... but mochas are still my favorite, too. We live 35 mins away from a gourmet chocolate shop that makes dark chocolate mochas with a thick, rich, melted chocolate... I once brought one home and put it in the fridge for later, and a few hours later it was the consistency of chocolate mousse!! But I severely limit my (refined) sugar intake, so I have maybe 3 or 4 mochas per year. At home, I brew my coffee in the french press with a tablespoon of cocoa powder, then add a tablespoon of coconut sugar to my mug of coffee, plus half and half, and it's not QUITE the same as a mocha but it's a yummy weekend treat.

I'm making pumpkin bread in a few days... so excited. The 12-yr-old and I (the kid I help homeschool) baked a pie pumpkin (whole), then scooped the guts and seeds out, so the pumpkin bread will be even better with real pumpkin. I love pumpkin season.

I just saw that there is a pumpkin spice latte shortage at some Starbucks locations. This is completely prompting me to head for one first thing in the morning.

It was on the Daily Beast. Hopefully just a temporary thing at some locations, right?
