This isn't really my accomplishment as much as it's BabyJ's, but it's still exciting ... the King of 45-minute naps has now been napping for 1.5 hours (and still going)!!! I know this could be a fluke, but it still feels like PROGRESS!

I connected with the decendents of my grandmother's long-lost Lithuanian cousins. She immigrated in 1923 and assumed that, but for a handful who made it to South Africa, those who remained were killed. (1,900,000 Lithuanian Jews perished in the Holocaust and many more were killed before then in pogroms.) I'm now being bombarded with e-mails and facebook friend requests from third cousins 3x removed in South Africa, Israel, Canada, and the US. For the most part, they are all very excited and kind of confused about our family geneolgy -- trying to draw connections between me and random friends of theirs living in Hartville, SC, asking whether I'm the cousin they met in NY once a long time ago, whether I'm the woman with the same name as mine on skype who lives in Greece, sending me pictures of their kids' weddings, etc. However, one is in Chicago where my grandmother's family settled after they immigrated and he's in the same business as my grandfather and g-grandfathers were in. The world just got much smaller.Last edited by MrsK; 03-05-2013, 07:38 PM.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

Thanks so awesome MrsK!
Today I cleaned and disinfected every last freaking corner of my car interior. Late last week I transported some freshly spayed and neutered puppies from the vet to the shelter. This morning I get an email that one of the puppies is very ill and very contagious and to lysol the shit out of everything they touched. That will teach me not to transport puppies without a kennel again. Thankfully my dogs hadn't been in the car since the puppies.Wife of a surgical fellow; Mom to a busy toddler girl and 5 furballs (2 cats, 3 dogs)

I'm actually at HIMSS right now, and all the vendors are here. I don't actually know much about AthenaHealth, but they seem to be really well liked.Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer

Today, in between three appointments and getting the car serviced, I visited a couple thrift shops. I spent $24 and purchased an Ann Taylor beaded cardigan NWT, a Chicos silk blouse, a t-shirt NWT, a Talbot's linen knit pull-over, a pair of like-new boots, and a Betsy Johnson belt. I have already sold the belt for seven times what I paid. Now, I need to get motivated to make dinner. . . .Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.
