Didn't get to watch all of it but as much as I love The Beatles, Sir Paul needs to lay low for a while. I like how they incorporated so many aspects of British culture, like the NHS and the Queen's entrance with Bond but the Voldemort thing would've creeped me out if I were a little kid. The parade of athletes gets to me every time though, seeing the joy on their faces.

We recorded the opening ceremonies last night to watch today. If it's slow, good thing, because I need time to explain the industrial revolution, women's suffrage, and James Bond to my four-year-old! Ha ha!

I do wish there had been some leaks in advance regarding the content. it was very short notice to come up with a history lesson on the fly for the 4 and 6 year old here! My six year old got very angry at the women's suffrage people and thought they should throw their signs on the ground and stomp on them.

I wish there was more description about the opening ceremony as well beforehand. I've read mixed reviews on facebook. Some people loved it, others were bored and others said no one will ever beat China's opening ceremony. I didn't catch this one myself but hopefully I will sometime later as recorded and skip all the commercials. If anybody has a copy please send it to me.

I read different events that people were watching today too. I read in the news 8 times gold medalist Michael Phelps has slipped to 4th place in some events and his teammate is surpassing him.

When are the gymnasts events? Gosh I wish I could catch it streaming online somewhere since we don't carry TV service at home.

Anyways here's a cool link of about 30 pictures taken of Royals and Dignitaries at the London 12' Summer Olympics. I'm telling you even if it's not the greatest weather and they don't have everything down pat. It's still the place to be this summer if you can make it. God I wish I'd win some tickets and had my passport renewed for a spontaneous moments notice rendezvous abroad for some summer games watching Olympians in London and having lunch and dinner in Paris. I wonder how many people are staying in Paris for the games?

Gymnastics is every day for the first 6-7 days. Yesterday was men's qualifying, tonight is women's. We tried to see if we could get it online but NBC only allows online access to video if you've got cable/satellite TV - so we got cable installed.

The women's swimming relay was really fun last night! USA won bronze!! Apparently this was a big improvement from past teams. Wooohooo!

I'm just loving it all. There are 4 channels streaming live Olympic events practically all day so whenever there's a commercial I just flip to one of the other ones -- it's literally nonstop!

Loved watching the men's gymnastics yesterday, they did very well and they're all such handsome little dudes. I'm not surprised Lochte won the 400 IM -- did anyone see the training regimen he's been doing recently?? This guy is ready. I don't expect Phelps to dominate this year like he did at the last Olympics, but I was surprised he didn't even medal in the 400 IM. He only needs 3 more medals to become the most decorated Olympian in history and he has, what, 6 more events left? I definitely think he'll do it.

Attended two of the soccer matches today: Japan - Morocco (1-0) and Spain - Honduras (0-1). Both matches provided excellent entertainment but in particular the Honduras game was extremely exciting.

They did indeed, scored a header in the 8th minute and then faced a Spanish onslaught for the rest of the match.

So awesome you were there! I watched the Spain match live - what an upset! They did not have it together this week at all.
