Josh Duggar admitted to it. His poor wife. She's been through way too much. As for him, no words.

Wow. This actually does surprise me. IDK, the family just seems so sheltered. I can understand how molestation and a really botched response to it within their closed community could occur but this seemed less likely to me.

From what I've read about the Duggars' approach to sex education, it's based on Bill Gothard's teachings. Honestly, I'd be totally shocked if more of their children don't have scandals as they get older. That philosophy is pretty messed up. I mean, I grew up with "True Love Waits" type teaching, but this goes a step farther into victim blaming and claiming that men just can't help it and it's women's responsibility to help men control their urges.

So back to Ashley Madison... I also feel bad for the families involved. I may be in the minority, but I don't think an affair necessarily means a marriage should end. My dad cheated on my mom, and they are still happily married over 30 years later. By being so public, it makes it harder for a couple to work through their issues and stay in their marriage if they want to.

I feel so horrible for Josh Duggar's wife. They have a young infant (under 3 months old) and 3 other kids. And their religion doesn't allow for divorce.

That's the one the NYTs linked. I think it doesn't really work either. I tried looking people up by name like Josh Duggar and all the various spellings of his name and email and he didn't come up until I plugged in one of the emails mentioned from his credit card statement that they cite a copy of in the news.
