I have two pairs of capris, but I have to be very careful because of my freakish-sized quads and hamstrings.

I'm sure that Vishenka and Lily will disagree, but I think that this is a good "mom" alternative to the sweat shorts that I occasionally wear in the summer:

Now, I'm only 5'2" so these yoga skirts come to my knees unlike the Amazonian supermodel. Since these types of skirts are a t-shirt material and have built in bike shorts, you can sit on the wood chips at the park and chase kids in it. I pair it with a micro tee and skecher type mary janes. You have to get real about the clothes that you wear with kids.

Of course, this type of outfit occurs only on the rare day when the sweat short cut-offs and ratty running tees just don't seem to do it for me.

My friend who plays soccer has the same problem, Kelly. I think she looks athletic and healthy.

Did I tell you this? Another friend of ours (lovingly) calls her quad-zilla.

Hey, it is what it is. Most of the time I'm o.k. with it. But I am a girl. I have to have some body hangups.

Kelly, they don't look freakishly big at all. But you're right, we all have our own stupid body handups.

Back to capris. What Lily was saying is that ankle length pants are not any hotter than capris but are more flattering. Most people seem to be saying "I can't believe you're against capris, they're so much cooler than ski pants." Nobody is comparing them to ski pants or fleece pants or jeans or skirts. What we're saying is that an extra few inches of length won't make a huge temperature difference but will make a huge fashion difference.

I'll do the graphic in the next issue but it'll be up to you to print and laminate. How does that sound?

But, I think they do make a huge temperature difference. And, I like the way they look. I think they are cute, stylish, and fun.

Kelly, I would die for your quadzillas. Apparently, I need to be running more and eating less.

                        My issues runneth over.

Back to talking about how capris are the downfall of American women's fashion.....

Oh my god this thread is cracking me up. This is the first time I have been and had a look at the retail therapy section. I was scared, and with good reason it seems. I just went and put on my capris (all the worst, mid-calf length, slim fitting kind) and looked in the mirror and guess what?? They make my legs look short! But then maybe they always look short? I'm gonna have to go try all the jeans now.....
