Another day of wearing whatever is left after the closest collapse and wardrobe relocation.

Question: what close-toed shoes do you wear with a maxi skirt? It's too chilly for sandals/flip flops today but everything else I try on just doesn't feel right. Boots seem too clunky (though that's finally what I settled on), toms show an awkward amount of foot/ankle, and flats seem as someone put the other day too choir concert.

This is becoming my answer to everything: Fryes! I also have some lace up Bare Traps I'll wear with fleece rights under the skirt. Sometimes I tie the skirt in a knot at the bottom so you can see more of the boots. But I'm also a crazy person and most people wouldn't dare my stylistic choices.

Did you try a ballet flat, Niener? I wear those or my Tony Llamas with maxi skirts.

I'm a few days behind! Pretty much assume my clothes are from BR Outlet, Loft, or Stitch Fix, occasionally J. Crew, J. Jill, or Talbots, with Premier jewelry. I can't help it - I like what I like!

(After hair cut - it will look better when I style it on my own, since she always flat irons it.)

I've given up on wearing anything other than my grey sweatshirt when I'm home because I just get spit up on every 5 seconds anyway. I'm almost always wearing DS2 when we do go out, so nobody can see my tops then either.
You all look so cute. I can't wait until I can join the ranks and start wearing real clothes again.

I did but the only ones I have that match are black with a little design on them that makes it look super choir concert. I think I just don't have the right type of flats.

I think I figured out the problem with the boots. The particular ones I have have a visible rim around the edge where the leather is sewn into the sole of the shoe which gives them a wider base and makes them look clunky against this thinner fabric. I went shoe shopping earlier today and tried on a few pair of boots and discovered the ones where you couldn't see the rim of the sole peeking out around the base (thus giving them a slimmer appearance) looked fine with the skirt. And Mapplebum, the ones I ended up buying happen to look like knock-off Fryes

                            November What Are You Wearing?

Alright it's date night so this is what me putting forth effort looks like. This is also what an homage to neutrals looks like:

                            ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415406914.895932.jpg

Grey and camel striped sweater dress, TJ Maxx (or Marshall's, can't remember)
Taupe / lt brown pleather jacket, Dillards
Brown cable-knit fleece lined leggings, Zulily
Taupe / lt brown boots, Gianni Bini also from Dillards
Camel cashmere scarf from college trip to Italy
                            Rustic golden filigree earrings

(Eta the boots and jacket are actually much closer in color than they appear in the picture. One of my lights in my bedroom has gone out and the color is a little wonky)
