So I bought these today. I'm not sure this is how skinny jeans are supposed to look. I feel poured into them. My mom is totally against skinny jeans. She finds them wildly unflattering and has already told me how bad they look.

^i disagree! I think they look great and I like them a lot. Paired with cute flats and a sweater and that's one of my favorite casual looks.

My mother would kill you. She's like "IF you get them, don't EVER wear them with flats. EVER"

T&S your petite muscular legs are bangin in those. I think they're cute! Skinnies are great for boots too since they just tuck right in, no stuffing a ton of extra fabric in there

Someone tell me what boots I need. Keep in my mind massive calves and desire not to spend too much. Help, please. Some sort of slouchy something...

Do you wear more black or brown?

                      • T&S every time my mom makes a comment about something fashion related she doesn't like I tell her "well that's awesome! Good thing you don't have to wear it!" Hahah. Anyway re:boots - I have weird calves that are abot a quarter inch too large for regular boots with 14.5-15" shaft circumference so I look for wide leg boots usually. Last year I found the sam Edelman Penny2 in the brown/whiskey color and I LOVE LOVE them. The one outfit pic I posted here shows them! They were about $150 which I felt was fairly steep but they are actual leather and I've turned more than a handful of boots down bc the pleather look was really obvious (not always the case, just happened to be the case with the ones I'd liked initially). Anyway, have gotten tons of wear out of them already. They can be casual or dressed up. I want the black pair and will ask for those for Xmas.

                        • Personally I would go with cognac or brown, leather, knee high, and very basic, if you don't already have a pair like that. I really don't think that you actually need a wide calf, but there are plenty of options if you do.

                          • E you are rocking the jeans!!! I agree with above on the boots.

And sorry, your momma just isn't trendy tell her that!

I admit it took me awhile to embrace tapered jeans though because it seems counterintuitive

                            • My opinions - though they may be a little harsh - are that you shouldn't wear anything BUT skinny jeans with boots, because the bunchy fabric around the knees of looser jeans looks really tacky sticking out of boots, and that you should also spend the $$ on real leather. Pleather is really obvious looking and it wears badly. Just don't do it.
